Question Recommendation of Extra Lights.

I currently have two spotlights mounted on my brushguard (here).

The clear face popped out on one and the light is blurry and distorted on the other. Now one bulb is dead and I'm just looking to get a better quality pair. Unfortunately, I cannot remember nor discern which brand of lights these are, so what are your recommendations?

I think I want to stick with spots instead of floods. Though, I'd like to hear your experiences with either.

Thanks for your time.

Do you use them for driving or purely off-road? I think the Hella 500 are good types but I'll let you decide on the $69.95 price. There's also a Hella 500FF style which means "Free Form" technology which presents more light compared to fluted lenses. Search up on it, it's been discussed many times before. Also what might help is once you get the set of lights, go to AutoZone and get a pair of Silverstar 55W H3-ST bulbs and replace the stock bulbs before you even mount them. They are presently in my driving lights and I can personally attest that they are whiter, brighter, and crisper than the stock bulbs.

I see you're a Floridian. I'm down in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Since it's hurricane season, I need to get these lights squared away. I help the local emergency services during the storms and the extra light has come in handy many times.

I'll look into those bulbs. However, the lights to mentioned look like the ones I have now. The mounts are very weak and if they are the same ones, the beam becomes distorted after months of use.

When I'm out in the middle of a storm, I need to know my lights are going to point in the direction I need them to and not break with the slightest debri impact.

Well if they are truely Hella's then they would say them. Most aftermarket offroad lighting are round, so they are easily confusable. You could also look into PIAA. I've never seen them up close or used them for that matter, but hopefully someone else could chime in here.

Could you post a close-up of them so I can try to ID them? I'd be really suprised if they are Hella's, I have the dual-beam 2020 set on my truck and I've had nothing but positive comments on them from the last 4 years of use. Only rust is on the back screws. Not an ounce of moisture. I find them helpful at night, but when it comes to what you need, you should stick with either Hella or PIAA IMO

I live way up north Fla by the GA border. I actually don't mind the hurricanes. Minus the damage they do, they drive out the old tourists who don't know how to drive for another 4 months so they don't bother me. Only damage I've ever got from one was back in '05 one of them knocked out my power for 4 days. I can tell ya, one dosen't know the worth of water until the well runs dry!

I just examined the bottom of the light very closely, they are Hella lights. I know the name is good, so I'd love to stick with them. I just need a more rugged pair.

Of course, spots or floods?

It started with me driving out to my friends to see if they needed anything. Having a truck and being a crazy idiot, I was one of the few people willing and able to get out of my neighborhood to reach others. After that first storm I found myself moving trees and debris out of all the local streets, allowing Fire Rescue and Police easier access (or access at all!) to people in need.

Now, I am out during and after the storms. Most of the local police know my truck and know I'll be out there. Gets me dibs on gas and allows me to speed if I need to.

So, back to the lights. I also use them for daily night driving on busy streets. I tend to have them pointed as far down as they'll go to avoid pissing people off.

KC Daylighters... Extrememly rugged lights (warranty to back 'em up aswell). I had the 150W long range spots and they were VERY bright. Never had a problem with them.

In that case, you should pick up some yellow emergency lights or a headlight strobe kit. Sounds like you would use them often

For a maximum of maybe... eh... 10 total days a season, not worth the price. It'd be damn cool, though. lol!

I might be picking up a pair of those KC's with a Pencil beam. Someone told me I should get both spots and floods. I only have two pre-drilled holes on my brush guard, though. Any thoughts?

i think we have the same style brush gaurd. It only has tow holes but can easily fit 4 lights. If you do it this way then put the floods on the out side and the spots on the inside. thats the way i would do it atleast.

another thing you could think about is a roll bar and mount lights up there it could hold 4-6

Bar is out of the question. Here's the front of my truck, though:
