After a long time dealing with this, it looks like were finally on the same page. I'm going to be receiving two new BiXenon bulbs, and two new ballasts under warranty. I just had to pay $50 to upgrade my bulbs. Can't wait to see the difference and get my high beams back.

I'm sure that mSall150 can tell us for sure, but I think that it's not the ballasts that are different, but maybe the wiring I think. I just hope that the relay I got there now will work with these.

Well, I just had one of my Heads go out the other day. Right as I was working on a push button start, and a day before this 3000 mile journey im on... So back to all regular lights...

I figured out why I keep killing ballasts. First, I didnt ever think about reprogramming my alarm not to blink when unlocked. Then I didnt give the ballasts time to chill. On, off, on, off. etc.

If you are looking for a new HID kit, check out my thread in appearance products under HID for under $200 (bixenon)

Its pretty informative and directs you to a very good hid kit on ebay and the company also has a website. (both links are included)

Regarding the "Chilling time" before turning your lights back on, this kit solves that problem.

When a bulb is hot, it has less resistance and needs a lot less power to be lit. Most ballasts send the same "starting current" to hot bulbs as they do to cold ones. They dont tell the difference between the two. This is when the problem occurs. The already hot bulbs recieve way too much power and it waists the bulb's life by about 3 hours each time this happens.

This kit solves that problem by only sending the amount of current that the bulb requires at its current state. Its called Hot-Restrike Technology. Im assuming it senses the bulb's resistance before send the current to the bulb.

(They are also digital ballasts)
Digital = efficiency

oh, sorry. I forgot to mention.

When you get new bulbs (bixenon) the same ballasts will work. Just make sure your new bulbs come with a wiring harness. All bulbs are different and require a different harnesses for hi/lo function.

You also want a bulb that moves in and out. The bulbs that move up and down.. (towards the sky and the ground) suck. THey distort the light pattern, and the motor goes out. The in-out type keep the stoc light pattern and they utilize a magnet to pull the bulb backwards. No motor to fail...

Im no expert on all of this. I have just went through 4 kits and have learned from my mistakes. Anyone correct me if im wrong on any of this.

There's a screw behind the headlight housing that sticks out. Counter clockwise to aim up, clockwise to aim down.

If its 04+, it has one screw right behind the headlight for adjusting. You need a 4mm wrench, or you can get the snap-on tool designed for it (expensive though)

I got a 10pc set of small wrenches at Sears Hardware for like 14$'s.

Bleh... somehow water go onto one of my ballasts today while I was washing the truck and now it doesn't fire.

I figured the rubber seal around the connection would be adequate to protect against waster, but I was wrong. I should have added some E tape around them.

Anywhoo, I dried the connection area out as much as I could and tryed re-igniting... its sparking, but wont stay on. Didn't want to damage the bulb so I turned them off and now I'm letting it air dry, hopefully it fixes the problem.

If not, I'll be using the warranty

You need to buy the whole bixenon kit because the relay it comes with is what sends the signal for high and low beams. The ballasts are the same, the bulbs and harness are very different.

Well I got my new relay harness, and Bixenon bulbs in the mail today,

but no ballasts I just shot him an email and hope that they are just being shipped separately. For those that were wondering about the harness it is defiantly heavy duty and very well made. The bulbs are also a lot bigger and seem also very well made. I'll get pics later.
