I've been thinking about taking my running boards off. I'm still on the fence.

I vote for leaving them.

 

leave them they look fine! Unless you have a reason for taking them off... "gives it a higher look without them "

I say leave em. Before i sold mine, just swapped them on and off every few months to change it up some

 

Get rid of them...

on i find them way to functional to ditch

1) A step
2) Block car doors from slamming into you paint in parking lots
3) Block some rocks from being thrown up by your tires and hitting the paint

And IMHO they don't look bad
