What am I missing?

Staring at my truck, it looks as if it's missing something. I think what my truck needs is some chrome running tubes and the chrome trim peices around the wheel well and PTM handles. What do you guys think? (P.S: Death to anyone who says "raise it" or "put 30+ inch tires on it!")

I think the runningboards and the ptm handles.... i would leave off the chrome around the fenderwells.... on your truck i'd do like a black pinstripe or something just to break up the white a little bit.

Okay, the painted bumper and light overhaul all around is coming as soon as I can pay off this trannie job.

I'm thinking since I'm going with the chrome look I might go for a whole new replacement door assembly in finished chrome look instead of PTM. Can anyone recommend a good chrome step tube for the extended cabs?

BTW, many of you might have noticed that my new billet grille dosent have the "Blue Oval" in it, but I took the one off my stock and mounted it on there. It looks sick now! I'll get some pics up ASAP.

I was thinking lowering it a tad might look good. But that's going to be way down the road, I can't afford drop shackels just yet.

Nah...with rising gas prices, I'll stick with my 6.

I've got several friends with the V8. One of them with the '95 5.0L V8 and he can only afford to drive 2 days of the week. The rest he has to ride the bus.

get a new hood! they sell them on ebay.

or got to one of these websites

ramairhoods.com

cervinis.com

they run anywhere from 240-1000
but for your truck you could get a lift off hood and hood pins which is around 250!

but definately ptm front and rear bumper, or chrome front bumper.

start saving up for new wheels! if you are going for a lowered look you need alittle more "bling" try the helo maxx6 they look good and relatively cheap!

2 cylinders! I have a 4.6L that gets me 22mpg on the hwy.

Maybe another color other than white? Then again, I'm from up north and no one drives a white truck, but when I am in FL, I see all sorts of em.

Chrome that front bumper to match the back!

Haha, sucks to be poor. He must have a long round trip, or just truly be flat broke! I don't spend but maybe $50-$60 a week on gas, unless I go on a road trip to the beach or lake or something like that.

But then again, gas prices don't matter to me very much. If they did I wouldn't be running TP's 93 Octane Performance tune!

Even then, I filled up on premium yesterday at $3.18/gal and got 24.6 gallons for a grand total of $78.45. A full tank gets me approx 300 miles, or almost $0.26 a mile at ~12.3 MPG.

Just for comparison, if I had the V6 in my truck, Ford's sticker says I should expect to get, lets say, 16 MPG to be generous (I drive 90+% city). Take away 2 MPGs for the larger tires and wheels and to account for the 4x4, so we now have a 'real world' MPG of 14. At 89 octane gas prices are around $2.98, that's $0.21 per mile. So am I willing to pay about a nickel per mile for the additional 150HP? No question! I drive about 12,000 miles a year, that's only about $550 on top of the almost $2,600 you'd have to pay for regular gas.

So, at only $550/yr more I get the bigger engine (approx. 100 HP more than the V6 from the factory) and the high octane tune, with its intake and exhaust (another 40-50 HP) so I net ~140-150HP more than the V6.

Looking at it another way, it's less than $2 a day for all that extra power.

So, long story short, I don't really buy the whole gas mileage excuse

Raptor05121, lightning springs and rear 2 inch drop shackles are a nice stance without it being too low

I agree on paint to match the door handles, running boards are a nice touch but the harley ones look the best and are hard to come by so I'm about to narrow mine so they don't stick out.

stock suspension:

lightning suspension:

my supercharged 5.4's get better mileage than my buddies 4.2 regular cab and I can drive whatever speed i want up hills while he bogs and then calls me and asks me to slow down and wait for him
