I Have An 02 F150 and i want to put on a set of smoke lense clearance lights. has anybody done this yet? any ideas on how to go about this?

 

ive seen a set of them on a super duty that looked really good. ive never really been a fan of having them on light duty trucks though...just my opinion

 

I'd love to put the smoked overhead lights (either SD style or two singes and one bar like GMs) on my truck but am a little paranoid about cutting in to the roof!

Dito.......Makes the truck look more important than it is. It's like mud tires on a 4X2.....Why?

Wow, you read a lot into what people say. He just said he likes the light configuration. Nothing wrong with that.

 

i agree with that gm look thing, they did give the clearance lights a much more updated look than the standard 5 single light config that practically everyone was running

 

My bad. I re-read his post and he didn't say anything about looking like a GM...... just disussed their setup.
I only popped in to give my two cents about clearance lights and mis-read his reply. Ooops
I was just thrown off since this is an F-150 site, and not GM so I added 2 more for the GM comment.

 

cowboy thanks for that link i think i might try that but do you know if i have that harness hook up or am i going to have to run them into my headlight power switch?

 

It's all good WB. I misread crap all the time. But just because it's an F150 site doesn't mean we don't look to see what's going on over on the other side.

Are you guys talking about the orange lights on top of those duallies? I think it would be cool but F-150's don't look tough enough to have those. They might look kinda tacky. Dunno. We'll have to see.

 

Exactly, the two single lights and one bar light have a more modern or "cleaner" look, IMO. It's easy to argue that adding lights at all would ruin the "clean" look, but just a thought.

It'd just be one more way to make the truck have a unique look, but don't be expecting me to cut in to my roof any time soon!

 

your welcome. Usually when you buy the lights in a "kit" they come with a wiring harness, but yes, you need to wire them into the headlight switch.

 

I have the clear ones on my truck. Just got 'em on this last summer/fall here. Look great imho.
