Recon 90-watt Strobes
Recon 90-watt Strobes
Anyone have these? As soon as my dad passes my truck officially into my name I'm going to install some strobes. I like the Recon name and the higher wattage, but for $150 I'd rather have the Hide-A-Way from Whelen.
heres a good idea, dont buy strobes. invest in something worthwhile like a grille or painted bumper.
as much fun as it is to impress your friends. its not cool when people dont yield to strobes because they think its just another damn kid

strobes are only cool if you play with them off road. its never ok to use them on the road, unless you work for law enforcement or emergency service. ive got wig wags, but they have only been turned on maybe twice. there just isnt a place to use them. like Jeepin said, get a new bumper or something worth while. sure your friends will think they are cool, but they would think more of a nice bumper
Well I'm getting this grille for christmas:

and then I'm going to buy myself these L-style headlamps w/ depo's for Christmas so we can do both in one shot:

Any maybe for next christmas or my b-day (July) I'm going to either send off my current bumper to get chromed or buy a new one since this one has the mounting holes for my foglights. Besides, I would only use them off-road or in a annual car show we have here at our local airpark. Once I get my grille & tonneau cover I'm going to enter in it and I could use the strobes there (which is where I originally saw them and fell in love with them.)

Hmmm......I guess that might be viable...
How do I find a place that strips and can paint w/ matching YZ paint codes?

any body shop should be able to do it. if they cant take it to a ford dealer body shop. itll be more pricey but it will be an exact match
Well I live in Hickville, Fla. so I'm prolly going to have to drive 80+ miles to Gainesville or J-ville to have it done. Can I expect it to be done the same day so I'm not looking stupid driving around w/ no bumper?

Personally, I'd never do strobes on my truck...but it's his truck, not mine or yours.
