Differant Chrome Door Handles??

Im researching differant Chrome door handles.
Since my truck is Dark Blue and has a lot of Chrome now Ive "thought about getting just the handles done and not the buckets. However looks like you have to buy the handles and buckets both regardless?

First whats the differance between Putco and the TFP manufacturing?
Guessing the Putco is some kind of hard plastic and the TFP is actaully stainless Steel? If so can one tell the differance by looking at them from the side door view or only by feel?

Yes I know the Mark LT looks sweet and thats what id like to have! However low on truck funds being Christmas time. Even though I only need 2 door handles and tailgate the price for my color paint is much higher the places I looked at.

Does anyone know of a place that sells the Chrome handle not the doublesided 3M tape the actual door handle in Chrome maybe?

Thanks!!

Putco, and other options...

Putco makes a complete chrome plated zinc replacement bucket and handle, here.

Putco also makes the chrome plated ABS plastic stick-on handle covers, here.

OR, you could go with a genuine Lincoln MarkLT handle assembly, here.

For a less expensive option that looks similar to the MarkLT styling, but with a little unique flair, buy a Putco "Razor" designer series chrome plated ABS plastic stick-on handle cover, just the center section, here.

If I was going to add chrome to the F150, I prefer the MarkLT handle styling...just the handle in chrome, not the bucket.

F150BQ thanks for the reply!!!
Not sure if I can find anyone that sells the MarkLT chrome handle only?
I dont know much about the MarkLTs could I call the Ford dealer parts department and ask them if they sell the handle only and see what the cost is.

They don't. The LT handles come with the painted buckets in a handful of colors and yours is not one of them. Your truck is True Blue, available from 04-06. In 07 true blue was replaced by Dark Blue Pearl which is available on the LT handles.
If you want to keep your black buckets, you could just buy some LT's in black, or buy some billet handle straps, or just buy some putco stick-on chrome covers and leave off the bucket cover (far cheaper than the LT's or billet straps)

Neuspeed, good call on the AMI parts. I forgot about those, but that's a nice option...they make a quality piece.

I'd do those over stick-on chrome any day of the week.

I found a place that sells the LT handles with the bucket stock black to be painted. However if I can pick them up cheap enough im just going to use the handles. But still need to find one for the tail gate since its a differant handle.

Thanks Again guys!

Well I think I did good I found a pair of grippen chrome door handles on e-bay some guy "just" posted less then an hour ago $49.00 shipped! (buy it now) I seen them for $164.00 at all the other online sites! I think I'll just do the handles for now and see how the truck looks. Still need to think of how im going to do the tailgate now.

BTW..Are the stock black buckets hard to paint or hold paint and look good? I almost though about taking them to a local paint shop and have them painted when I replace the handles. Not sure how good the paint will look on the black plastic and stick on them too.

Thanks Again guys!!

Handles & Buckets?!

Does anyone know if the Putco handles and buckets can be seperated if you buy them as the package and not the "center only" sections? I have a local guy who can sell me the 4 handles and buckets and tailgate handle/bucket for super cheap... I like the LT look (only the centers) but don't have the cash to spend onthe real thing yet.

Anyhow, if anyone has them or know that would be great. I have to wait until next week to see them, so I'm hoping I can tell by looking if no one chimes in sooner.

Thanks

Hedly411 I know what your talking about and I was going to do the samething. Buying the kit and just installing the Putco chrome handles without the chrome buckets. Ive seen them in a package and the two are seprate so Im pretty sure you can just add the Putco chrome handles.

My setup turned out really nice. I have a pic in my gallery.

Good Luck!

Thanks FX, I was hoping that they would be separated... I figured I'd be able to tell once I saw them, but now I have to wait until Monday. Oh well, I'm hoping they turn out looking lie yours; your truck is sweet looking.
