Bull Bars

Anybody who has put bull bars on their truck:

1) How heavy is it-does it make the front end any lower?
2) If you mounted lights on it, how did you get a switch installed?
3) What brand/worth the money?

Thanks

what you want my friend is a Westin Safari Bar, i had one of these on my ranger. they look like a bull bar but most of them dont have the skid plate. they dont weigh down the front as they are ornamental, all they do is look good (sometimes) and add a mounting spot for lights. you can put the switch wherever and make sure to use the right guage wire. and most importantly run an inline fuse. i would only purchase a Westin one, but thats just me.
i dont know if they 07 escapes are the same as the 08 but all i see is 2001-2007 models.

i found this one ebay quick

1) They don't weigh enough to hamper the front end at all.
2) I mounted PIAA 540 Xtreme Whites. Simple wires into the battery, through the firewall, and to a switch stuck on the dash.
3) If going black, get a Westin. (see my gallery) If going for a chrome/polished look, get a new Bully brand bull bar...less money than the Westin, but polished stainless lifetime warranty, comes with matching polished stainless skid plate - looks good and it'll last.

Westin makes the Ultimate Bull Bar in a slightly smaller 2.5" diameter tubing for smaller vehicles...looks just like the full size version with the skid plate, just smaller diameter tubing. (The larger ones are 3" diameter.) It's not heavy, so don't even worry about that.

They make them for the Escape.

I'd do that over a Safari bar any day of the week.

If I get one, I think I am going to get stainless- so where do you think I can find a Bully? I have looked at the Westin several times, but just can't pull the trigger on it...once you factor in the lights, it gets pretty expensive.

Bully

The Bully Bull Bars just came out...they are fresh off the boat. I saw one in person at my retail store and was impressed. Beautiful seamless welds and a quality finish for sure. I haven't seen them online yet, but give me an email address and I'll send you some more info on where you can find one.

Anybody have any experience with the Manik A-Bar? I like the simplistic look without the lower cross bar on the thing.

Here's a picture -> http://www.realtruck.com/php/waterma...ne.wct&id=1584

It looks great on that lifted truck.
I mounted it up even closer to the frame after I took the pictures.

It's very expensive for how simple it is.

Not my cup of tea. I prefer the Westin style bar.

Clar: Did your Westin come like that or did you paint the guard black to match the rest?

Or is it just the shadow?
