HID Installation
HID Installation XENTEC
Just got my 10000k H13 & H10's. Its pretty damn cold outside and I dont have a garage, so I wanted to see if someone could give me some help here? I have no instructions on how to install these and my local shop wont do it unless I would have bought their $400 kits. I'd appreciate the help fellas, thanks..

Here's a tip for your install....
I learned the hard way that you need to use a relay to power the HID's. Without the relay, sometimes on startup it would blow the fuse. I got rid of my old kit and bought new 8k fog and headlight kit that came with a premade harness that plugged into the factory headlight socket (for signal when to turn on), wired to a relay and from there went to the two ballasts. The same went for the fogs. I also installed the 4 ballasts behind the headlights (2 each side) Hope this may help some what, I wish i could find my install pix for ya, Its much easier to see pix. Leon

Ok, got the hid's installed. Ran into a small problem though. Both are 10000k but Im using them with stock headlights. Didnt even think about the cover piece inside the headlights. It drowns out the blue, making my headlights appear white almost, while the fogs look as blue as can be. Anyone know of an easy way to tear apart the headlights and reseal them, or how to cut/take out that little piece inside? Trying to post pics, hope it works.

You don't want to do that if you like your headlights shining light on the road. Take a second to think about what that little cup thing does.

yea flareside is right, i wouldnt touch that thing. and i wouldnt be to worried about them not being super blue. if they are they will strain you eyes horribly after only an hour or 2 driving at night. the white is great. especially on back roads when you can throw on the highbeams.
install looks great! where did you mount your ballast?

I got a kit with just low beams and a seprate kit for my fogs Both in 8K. I swear by them, I have never needed High beams since. But that is up to you. I dont recommend going higher than 8K because it causes to much strain on your eyes @ night. 4300K-6000K are decent Bright "white" colors and 8000K are super bright with a blue tinge. Hope this helps.
Also, I paid 135$ for lows and 135$ for fogs AND they were overnight shipped.
Lifetime warranty on bulbs too if they crack or break.

Yeah that was me.. Nice truck!! Do u have any pictures of ur f150 headlights at night. Also are the bulbs on all the time or just when u turn the switch. I have read some articles about how the headlights have to be on all the time.
Allright guy,
How about a video! I just went out for ya and made you a video. I probly should have given you a view from the drivers seat but oh well I think you will like it. Just another note,
If you have daytime running lights, you should shut them off. You can do this by simply unpluging the resistor that is mounted behind the left front headlight. Hope its helpful.

Thanks man. They look kinda blue and the video was great. From the view you showed facing forward on ur truck shows blue. I was unsure if I wanted the 8k or 10k. Two quick questions. Since you hooked up ur HIDS is ur highbeam light on in your truck?? Did you have to cut into the wiring harness for the truck?? Everyone I talked to had those two problems.
Thanks for the video man!!!
