F150 Buying Value

I am looking into a F-150 and was wondering if I should pay more for a truck that is already done up or should I buy a truck that I have to change a bunch of things on it. I am looking at this truck:

But then I would have to change the grille and take off the fender flares to get it looking good. I am not really too sure where I could find an entire grille. Also when I take off the fender flares won't I have to sand it down since its probably rough shape under them.

Essentially I would like it to get to like this truck:

Here is another truck that I am looking into getting which has good fenders and grille all done but it is $2500 more and thats the main reason I am writing this as I am unsure what I should do.

Making a decision for us just based on pictures isn't going to be easy... but I'd say for for the second one.

Looks more well maintained I guess? (although it could just be a sellers picture).

If you get us a little more info on each of the trucks I think we'd be able to help you out a lot more.

Ya sorry i don't really have any more information. But I was wondering if, with alot of work, could I bring the first one back to look like the middle one with wax and a bit of work? I figure I would save $2500 so I might as well try. Thanks

Yea you'd definatly be able to make the first one shine. Will require a full days work but it'll be worth it in the end.

Just out of curiosity... You don't have any more info on the trucks? I'd never buy a truck without knowing the mileage, ect.

Anybody have an opinion on which one I should get
- pay more and get what I would like...
or pay less and just spend a bit of money on parts or are they to hard to find?
Thanks

Buy a new one

With the current F150 rebates, why buy a used truck with over 100,000 miles when for a few thousand more you can get a new truck and add on accessories. I just paid $13,000 for a brand new XL. slowly adding as i go.

Those prices seem a little high for used trucks, 100k+ miles, and all going on 8 yrs old

I don't know how much you could get them down, but I certainly wouldn't pay that kinda money for a truck with that many miles, let alone one of those XLs.

Best buy imho would be the Lariat, although I hope you'd get a little better price. I say look at a new XL if you can afford it. Brand new, warranty, no miles (or very little) etc.

I'd either get the Lariat or buy new. The Lariat is nice, but the mileage is a tad on the high side and I wouldn't want to pay for the gas...

I would definately buy new. With The incentives out there cash back, 0% and the biggy WARRANTY. I bought my 06' XLT F/S w/5.4L with 0% financing from Ford.
