Has anyone else done this the color of their truck? I like hte look of the black but I woudl be curious to see them in Blue or Silver also.

Also, how are they holding up over time? Any condensation, or cracks or anything?

So far the Krylon Fusion seems to be holding up pretty well. I was a little skeptical about using it for this application because of the heat from the lights but so far so good. In the past I used high heat spray paint when I did my VW.

I was gonna try this, but I changed my mind when considering the difference with the headlights and the foglights.

I think I may have to agree if you have the retangular fogs but the round fogs go really well with the round reflectors of the headlights and turn-signal.

I've tried the gray to match my truck and didn't really notice enough of a difference so went with black instead and love it.

The tough part is getting them apart, but you have to use plenty of sealant when putting them back on. One of mine is catching water somehow and always has condensation in it so I'll have to pull that one back apart and seal it better.

Did you leave some of the old sealant on or remove it all? Its kind of a pain but when I resprayed mine, I removed all of the old stuff and used RTV to fill in the groove. No leaks so far.

So everyone that's done this has no remorse? I was all set to buy a set of HD lights, but after discovering this thread I've decided to try my luck painting them. Only a couple of things really concern me 1) breaking something when I try to pry them apart, 2) not being able to seal them up properly causing water accumulation/condensation. The economic part of my brain says go ahead and try it it's only 10 bucks for paint. If it works i'm out only 10 bucks, if not I have my mind set to buy the HD's so I only stand to save money.

Million dollar question.... If you had it to do over, would you still remove your factory head lights, take them apart and spray paint them?

Prolly not. Not when a set of dark ones run $120 on ebay. The prying apart is just too big of a pain to go thru AGAIN. maybe I'm just weak....

And they will probably leak because they are cheap aftermarket lights. I will never buy after market headlights again as I made that mistake once with my Mustang.

Do it right the first time and buy the OEM lights. You can get them for under $239 a set on getfordparts.com
