How long did it take you?

It's black with a pink stripe. I used one of these to connect it with.

I believe they are called Snap-Lock Automotive Cable Connector. Should ba able to get them anywhere they sell automotive wiring stuff. I'd try wal-mart or a auto parts store. The billet door locks are easy. Just unscrew the one's on there now and screw these on. If I remember right, no need to remove door panel.

I got something alittle different for my F-150.
Picked up one of these offa Ebay for $30 bucks...

Has 13 super brite led's (same as cop cars have now-a-days), and has three functions. The two outside and middle led are on for "running", then all are on for brake, and then it splits for left and right turn. The Illinois dept of transportation has these on all of their service trucks, and let me tell ya they are kickin brite !

Mine wont be installed till spring, but I will post pics when all is said and done..

It didn't go well to say the least...lol....First of all I tried to mount the led bar in permantly with screws...the following problems occured...lol: 1) I couldn't get a drill bit long enough to reach the metal that the led light bar sits on underneath the tailgate 2) I went to home depot purchased a long drill bit, but it was strong enough to punch a hole through the metal 3) I ended up supergluing it in place until I can have it screwed in somehow 4) I clipped all of the wires going from the truck to the hitch plug, and I probably cut more than I should have 5) the wire adapter p.o.s. that the guy sold me at autozone didn't look anything like what you have in the picture, and it wouldn't hold the wires for anything 6) I was getting frustrated and the sun was going down...

so I went from having an led bar held on by adhesive and plugging into the trailer hitch to

an led bar hanging on by super glue, dangling wires, and now my f'ing blinker is acting up...lol...Im definately an electrical rookie...but decided to try it anyways....guess I didn't really have the right tools

two hours and twenty bucks later thats where I stood

so now I have to have somebody do it for me...ughhhh

Now that sounds like something I would do. lol Sorry to hear that you ran in to problems, but willing to bet you'll get them worked out. Can't you go ahead and rewire the hitch plug and run it off there for now? What is the blinker doing now? You did take the tailgate off while trying to drill didn't you?

No I didn't...should I have tried to remove it first? Might have made things easier....I was really wishing I had a rollpan at the time...lol...and I probably could rewire it the way you are speaking of, but I need to just go ahead and have it done correctly!
