KC,
Mine come on when the lights come on, get brighter with the brake lights, left half flashes with the left turn signal, right half flashes with right turn signal. I love it. My camera is still broke Santa :santa:

Thanks Guys. I don't think I have mine in the plug far enough. I gave it a good shove last night and now it lights up when the lights are on.

I got my L.O.F. LED light bar tonight. I went out to plug it into the trailer plug to see if all the lights worked. They all illuminated when I turned on my parking lights, but when I hit the brakes, only the drivers side portion of the LED's came on. I wiggled the plug around and made sure it was pushed in far enough, but no change. The lights turned on and off as I wiggled the plug??? I looked at the plug itself, and it looks like the electrical pin on the far end is shorter than the other pins.

I don't want to use this p.o.s. plug. I was thinking I could tap into the wires "behind" the 4-pin trailer plug. I think that would be the easiest, and cleanest looking way to do it. Plus, I won't have to worry about the plug leads corroding. I'll have some pics up shortly.

I just got finished hard-wiring mine a few minutes ago. It works perfect. It was really easy. I just stripped off a little insulation around the wires that go into the hitch plug about 6"-8" behind the plug, spliced the wires together, and taped it all up really good with electrical tape. You can tell which wire goes where just by looking. Not a hard job at all. The hardest part was trying not to scratch up my tail gate while I was taking it off and putting it back on.

PS- I got my Wolo air horn installed today too. It's rated at 118dB. That sucker is loud! Now all I have left to do is put in my Sylvania Silverstar headlight bulbs and I'm done.

awesome peacemaker...did you also have to splice the white wire to the reverse light wire in your taillights? I plan on hardwiring mine in as well for the same reasons as you. Did you zip tie the wires up and out of the way after you spliced or no?

Nope, I got the regular line of fire. So no reverse. I did use a big thick zip tie to hold the wires in place. They were already out of sight behind the bumper because I cut them short enough that they'll reach the plug harness wires without dangling. I left just enough slack so I could zip tie the wires around one of the holes in the bumper bracket.

Yep just got done doing mine. Took your advice and it turned out and looks great.

NOLES187, I just hooked mine in the reverse light wire in my taillight and it works fine.

can you do me a huge favor and either tell me which wire ( I think I saw two wires going to that reverse bulb when I took my taillight out) or take a picture showing me which wire and how it looks? Also did you just use a pair of regular wire cutters? thanks for the help!!

How long did it take you?

I'm not KC but, I used a knife and slit the insulation around the wires, and then just used my finger nails to pull the insulation apart far enough to splice a wire into it. It helps if you cut away enough of the insulation to reveal the wire, then just slit it the rest of the way around. I didn't have any wire strippers handy, so I had to improvise.

I'm not sure which wire is the hot wire for the reverse lights. You could check it with a voltmeter.
