Question

Greetings!!
Ok... got the center console today ... it was a pretty scratched up, we'll see how it all buffs out. For 89 bucks I can deal with that. The entire center console is sold from the dealers in like 12 different parts, so I was thinking if there are parts that are too scuffed up to buff out, I can always order replacement parts (hopefully they will fit ... I have a pretty cool parts counter at the local dealer if they don't). Anyways, I was wondering, as my center console has a big old hole in the rear of the console where the back seat radio controls were, here are some possible solutions:

A. I believe that the Expy has the same head unit as the F150, so would it be possible to purchase a new back piece for the center console and actually wire the radio controls to work (that would be way cool for us supercab people)

B. Were any Expy's sold without the rear seat audio controls? Was this standard or optional equipment? If it was optional, than there must be a replacement part w/o the controls, right?

I will clean and disassemble the unit this weekend and call the dealer's parts counter next week to get any part numbers and costs for anyone interested.

Steve

FasFreddy,

I have the factory 6-disk, got mine today and disassembled it and cleaned it. I have the changer mounted in it just fine. Maybe you got one that wasn't outfitted with the factory changer. Mine see if you can buy the changer insert at the parts counter. Brackets are easy to figure out too...stuff all filthy. Have gone through 1/2 a bottle of Windex cleaning it all!!!

I was just wondering if this expy consol will work on a regular cab 2k f150 XLT. I have the captain chairs and a center consol currently. Which year model do i need to get so that i don not have to remove the arm rests? 97-98? or? Much props for those that have gotten this to work.. it looks great. If i can ask a favor from sum1 who has it, can they take a picture looking from the top down? As of Now, i have my air bag guages and switches on the existing consol, and i am wonding where i will mount them if i install the expy consol.

Thanks a bunch
