F150, Racing Stripes?????

So I got a new idea for my '00 F150 and I thought I would see if anyone has done and what people think. I was looking on Ebay and they have a set of 8" Dual racing stripes for my truck in Black and I thought they would look pretty good. I have the tan/gold paint color and all accessories on the outside of the truck are black so the black stripes would match good. I really like the look on trucks and don't see to many F150's with them. Has anyone done this?? And if so pics would be great, just trying to get opinions. Thanks.

I'm actually planning on doing this in the near future to my screw as well, though I'm using gunmetal metallic stripes. There's a guy on the 'other' ford truck site that did it to his white supercab, and it looks awesome.

not sure if the url will work to that site, but take out the spaces and it should bring you to his gallery...

Oh, I have lots of opinions!!

For myself, I'm more of the subtle pin stripe sort instead of the big bold racing stripe sort. But you're right...the black stripes on your gold truck with the other black accessories should give you the look you're going for. I looked at the truck that Buckfu posted and it looks good. I say, if thats what you want, go for it!!

Thanks for the opinion, that is what I was looking for. I just want to make it stand out from the crowd some, but not be to guady(Spell?). I really like the look on the dodge's and for about $50 it is a pretty cheap apperance mod.

Your exactly right! For $50 you can remove them if you decide they aren't for you. On the other hand if you don't go for it you may always wish you had.

We have done two trucks with racing stripes - both are black, but the striping is different on each. Here are pics:[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

carbonchick:

I was wondering when the GTF150 kits for the 97-03 models were coming out...awesome!

Just a couple quick questions.....I just ordered one of the scoops for the 04 trucks, to put on my 01 Screw...will it fit flush to the hood surface? I was told it would by the lady I spoke to on the phone at DGM (ordered prior to this new stuff coming out)

2ndly, is it possible for DGM to publish the dimensions of the scoops as part of the product descriptions?

too cool!

In this last months Truckin' magazine there was a reader ride picture of a F150 that they had put the Mustang style strips down the side...that looked good

Damn those trucks look SO good. What size of stripes are those?? I am trying to decide on the size.

Also I was thinking it would be fairly cheap for them but I am finding out that is not true. As noted I can get the vinyl on Ebay for about $30 shipped. I was thinking install would be about $50 or so, it is just the hood, roof and tailgate, I am not doing any of the bumpers so it is pretty straight forward. So far I am hearing $150 or so for the install, that is crazy I think. I could do them myself but I am affraid I would mess up. What should install be?????

The truck at the URL I posted in the 2nd reply, has stripes that are 12" wide, with 1/4" pinstripes on each side, with a 5" space in the center.

not sure on the other ones...
