josho, I would think you are looking at 2-3 hrs of labor from layout to the final touches. $150 doesn't sound all that bad.
Your getting those stripes aweful cheap. One thing to consider is the intermediate grade vinyl is made more for flat window applications and the high performance vinyl is made more for contour curves like your gonna be facing installing these across your truck. From the pricing your saying that you can get these done in for $30, it is obviously intermediate grade. They will both look the same the day after the install but the intermediate will peel, crack and fade fast especialy where it is aplied over complex curves such as front of the hood, back of the cab where it rolls over to meet the back glass, etc. Intermediate has a life span of 2 years where high performance can have life spans of up to 9 years outdoors. The pricing of the material alone varies from $1.00 yd. for intermediate and $10 yd. for high performance. This is without transfer tape or labor of making them.
If your going to pay for them to be installed, you should consider having them done in high performance. If not, install them yourself and call it a day. just my 2 cents
Carbonchick, you guys have some nice parts! Are you guy's painting this stuff in house or are those stripe jobs subbed out?
Too bad i'm not into lowered trucks anymore, you'd have a customer over here.

Hey Sticker Steve: we have an awesome painter in Fallbrook. He did the 2002 truck - the 2004 was not painted by him, I'm really not sure who did it - we are probably going to have it redone by our painter. Thanks for the reply!

No problem bud, just giving you some info from the inside out. This is something I actualy do for money and know it pretty well. The $250 installed sounds like a great deal as long as they are using the better material. Well worth the money!
Look at it like this. I used to do custom paint just like the pics above. I bet just the stripes pinstriped out would be in the neighborhood of $1200-$2000 easy depending who you took it too!

These Stripes were vinyl for about $250. I have since, painted then on with a border stripe and had them clear coated for about $1100.

All the entire panels were scuffed and taped and sprayed. The panels were then clearcoated so that if you run your finger over the stripe, you can just barely feel where the blue stripe begins. I removed and reinstalled the grill myself to save on labor.

if anyone is interested, I'm selling the rally stripe kit I bought a while back. I decided not to have the paint work done to the truck in order for me to put them on....instead I'm putting that money into a classic muscle car restoration.
here's the lowdown on the stripe kit:
Color: Gunmetal metallic, kind of a dark charcoal metallic..looks good. It's made from the higher quality material that has a longer lifespan for outdoors.
Top Stripes: 12" wide, with a 1/4" pinstripe on each side.
There is enough to cover from the front bumper, hood, roof, tonneau and tailgate. The roof section is cut for a SuperCrew with the support/strength channels stamped in the roof. They are spaced so that there would be a 5" gap in the center between each main stripe.
Rocker Panel Stripes: similar to that of the old Mustang GT350s. Will fit nicely inside the scooped area on the lower doors of a Supercrew.
If you have any questions as to the material, I purchased the stuff from StickerSteve, and he can attest as to the quality.
Email me at buckfu2@yahoo.com for pricing. Thanks.
