MTX amps 4244 and 6304 4-channel?
Are MTX amplifiers good equipment? Looking at the 4244 ($280) or the 6304 ($400). Using with Polk Audio EX368's or DX7's, not sure yet on which is the better choice yet on speakers, but do know that an amp will be used either way and have been looking at the MTX amps.
Please advise, Thank you.

MTX amps are very good. Fot either of those polks I would use the 4244. The 6304 would probably be too much. MTX amps are underrated in their power ratings. My 4180 MTX is rated for 45w x 4 and acutally does 60 w. My 4200 is rated for 100w x 2 and does 130. A friend has a 6500D that is rated for 500 and is getting 780 from it.

Bought my 4244 on e-bay from a company in SoCal called CBRstereos. Great transaction. Had the unit within a week. Did the install this weekend. It sounds great. I was looking for a basic upgade and got much more. I am running Infinity Kappa 5x7's up front and JBL 6x9's in back. Doesn't sound as good as separates and a sub, but it is plenty for me. Install wasn't too bad. I did use a LOC between the stock head unit and the amp.

The DX7's are the model right above the EX368. Basically, the EX series is the value line, and the DX series are the midrange line....the MOMO's are Polks best series, but they don;t make 6x8's in the MOMO series, only components.
I have component sets from both the EX and DX series, and the DX series had a much smoother sounds to them...

I've got a set of dx7's in the rear doors, but it sounds like you're going to run 4. Thing is, those dx7's are power mongers and I'm not afraid to give it to em. I have the two running of an MTX 4132 rated at 50x2 but I think it tested at 65 ea. Thing is, since they're my rears, I'm not giving em all the power they'll take. If you're going for 4 speakers, go with the 6304, and that way, you won't have to have the gain all the way up, saving heat and possible distortion.
