Unhappy amp help...JL Audio experts

Hello All.......
Let me explain my situation. I just had my stock head unit replaced; w/ new speakers and a JL Audio 300/4 Amp. Everything worked great.
Then, a few days ago I added a sub under the seat and a JL Audio 250/1 amp to power it.
The problem is this.......When the radio is turned up, everything works great.
However, when the volume is turned down, (like say you get a cell phone call and you turn the radio volume down low but not off)....there is no sound from any speaker....It completely cuts out. The display shows like 07 or 08 for volume but now sound is coming out. Then if I turn the volume up...say to 12 or 14....Presto...Music.
This never happened before until I added the sub & second amp.....Is there something on the 250/1 amp that needs adjusting? A signal feed or cross-over? I had the amp professionally installed.

that's the first problem.

It could be a power drain, but i don't think that a power drain would only make the speakers cut out at low volume only.

you might need to turn up your gains on both amps. Depending on your head units quality, it's preamp output voltage might have dropped when you added the second amp....so, turn up the gains on the amp to compensate!

Just a thought...
