expanding foam fills in all the voids between the inner/outer panels on the back wall creating one "solid" panel, and yes the foam is just step 1 of many,
tommorow I plan on gutting the interior and dynamatting EVERY square inch of exposed metal surface, even the roof

Cool, looking forward to following you as you go. I'm about to get rockin myself but it may be a week or so before I get started, I'll be working 15 hour days this next 8 days.
What brand and how much of the foam did you use? Also was that the only spot you used it?

the braND IS "GREAT STUFF" from home depot ~5 bucks a can, I'm puttin it in the back wall, a/b/c pillars so i got 12 cans. If my math is right 12 16once cans once expanded i should have about 1 1/2 cans left over! always get more than you think you might need
I'm also using Elemental Designs Edeadv1 sound deadener, I ordered 200 square FT at $0.80 a square foot. so far i have all 4 doors matted as well
as a few dash panels that would also vibrate any time the bass would HIT!

Sorry dude I'm gonna be asking lots of questions, take it as a compliment.
Did you drill to get specific areas filled? Also don't you need exta "venting" so the foam has somewhere to puch the air? Forgive my ignorance but I am very interested in this process. Also, are there any negatives to this process?

feel free to ask as many ?'s as you want to!
1) no I did not need to drill any holes as there is alot already there.
2) no, the only venting needed is one window "cracked" or the door open when you are spraying the foam. No further venting is needed after the initial "spray"
3) the only "downside" to the foam is it is so d*mn sticky! if you can avoid getting it all over yourself unlike i did, you'll be good
and an update on progress, I took the interior out and matted the floor, roof, a/b/c pillars foamed and matted, will get you photos in the morning.
