Yeah it makes sense to save a few bucks when you can especially when they are the same thing.

Nice new pix, I have a question though? I'm assuming this isn't your daily driver? I can't see myself doing this massive project while still being able to drive to work every day.

in all truthfulness, it only took 1 day to gut the interior and mat it
what took me so long is the backwall, waiting for the foam to fully expand and all
also, my math was dead on, I've got 1 can leftover

So where all did you put the expanding foam exactley?

Or did you put all of it on/in the back wall?

AWESOME job Justin

I will be adding great stuff to my list of supplies needed for my install! I can't wait to do this. Since the other day of scratching one of my MINT PPI amps, I decided to leave my system alone till I have everything I need. Thanks for the pictures of your progress, keep up the good work

Yea well too late for that. It's not horrible stuff but there is better. You do need to lay that on better. Those pockets of air under the mat will expand in the heat and make the deadening fall off. Take a knife and cut a small hole to push the air out of.

yeah, I used the roller on the mat, what your seeing is were i used the foam to create a flat surface on the back wall.I laid the mat on then sprayed foam in the air pockets behind it, so the back wall appears flat. instead of all the ridges. Its an appearance kind of thing, I know it may sound stupid, but thats what I wanted to do. To each there own you know.
And I "sit" corrected about the deadener being equal:o my bad

ohh ok, thats cool with all the expanding foam, I know youve seen the one and only pic I got of my project with only the floor done, I drove it like that for a few weeks... I'd say it took about 2 months before I got everthing back in..... and even then I still need to get the rear seat back in

I'm glad someone else took the extra step, I keep telling everyone to stuff the c pillar and back wall with foam and then do about 3 layers of mat everywhere.... you would think they would want their truck to ride like a benz.... as if it wasnt quiet enuff.... it gets even quiter

Also I just put a 2awg wire from the frame/body to the battery, I gained a couple DB with just that. I'm at 125.6 with all my old jensen stuff when before all this it would only hit 110.2 (crappy) and SQ wasn't that great.
