I just bought an Edge...

Let the mods begin... I just bought an Edge EVO tuner. I was going to go with the Gryphon, but didn't have the extra money right now. I got a great deal on this one, and I figured I can have it updated to a Gryphon after tax season, and add some custom tunes. By then maybe I'll have my exhaust done too. After this I hope to get a level kit, and when the tires wear out I'll have to get bigger ones.

If one of yer mods is going to be a cai......don't do it until yer custom tunes are on the programmer......better yet do the Gotts mod and save yerself some moola.....ie the Gotts mod doesn't need custom tunes but the cai does.

do the gots (dwv) mod and call it a day for the intake. That's what I did. It doesn't look as cool as a nice AEM or Volant CAI but it doesn't need the custom tune either. For intake performance. I would drop in a better OEM style filter ( I use) AmSoil and have been very happy with it. Also take your throttle boddy of and clean it real good also clean your MAF sensor with some MAF cleaner. If these get gunked up, cleaning them with ever oil change will be the best thing you can do.

Good luck with the mods!!!

Yeah, if I do an intake, it will be the gotts mod. My tuner should be here in a day or two.

Looking cool doesn't matter a hill of beans with the hood closed! Something that doesn't restrict intake air DOES matter.

Congrats on the purchase. I purchased an Evo whic I eventually traded in for a Gryphon with custom tunes. I have one of those silly CAI though.

What settings are some of you running, such as WOT shifts, etc?

Hi.

As you might expect, this is a popular question - with literally hundreds of popular answers

Here's some samples:

The message here is - it's a personal thing - every truck is different, and as long as you adhere to the common basic best-practices ( e.g. the rpm limit / shift point 'headroom' delta), you'll be fine making some preferential adjustments that feel good - to you.

The manual has some settings advice as well.

Have a look ( advanced search - this topic goes back several years - many threads).

^^^^^Many.........many threads about these things.

And MGDfan is right that every truck reacts differently to these settings.......

Just be conservative if you adjust them.....a little is a whole lot better than a lot.
