Thumbs up My New Setup (VIDS ADDED)

New videos/tip pics edited in at post 11

After a long thread of possibilities I decided to upgrade my dual 40 series Flowmasters. They had a nice idle, but weren't loud enough on the throttle for me. Bought the truck used and the previous owner changed the stock setup to true duals (no crossover) with dual SI/SO 40s.

After deliberation I decided on:
Maggie high-flow cats
X-pipe crossover
Twin Dynomax Bullets

I couldn't have asked for a better setup. It's exactly what I wanted. The idle is just as deep (if not deeper than) the Flows. It's a more aggressive idle, too. The big difference is on the throttle. Man this baby is loud. Not obnoxiously redneck loud, but a beautiful, deep loud. Driving around it's quiet off the throttle, but if I decide to let someone know I'm there it doesn't take much.

I couldn't say more for the guys that installed it. They did everything I asked them to and more. I forgot to mention that I wanted the crossover as close to the cats as possible and the mufflers as far back as possible. They hooked me up anyway (I figured they'd know to do that stuff anyway). They did a fantastic weld job throughout. The only downside is I've yet to install the tips (painting them now) and they didn't leave enough clearance between the pipe and the bumper for 3.5" tips. I'm going back Monday to get it fixed and to raise a ruckus if they charge me. Cool guys, though, and I'll be recommending them to friends.

It's loud outside but amazingly quiet inside. I get just a little bit of drone around 1800-1900 RPMs going uphill, but that's it. It's perfect.

Anywho, on to the pictures and a few videos. I'll take more pictures once I've installed the tips. In the process of taking more videos, too. I've gotta say, though, the videos don't do the sound justice. My Nikon D90 is the only thing I have that takes video at the moment, but the built-in microphone is crappy. It sounds 5x better in person.

Inside cab, windows up, radio at low-medium listening level:

Drive-away (coming back was all downhill so I didn't give it much throttle there):

Thanks everyone who helped me out!!! More later!

Looks excellent, a very good install job, and sounds excellent, very well toned, clear, and deep. Making me want to switch even sooner. The Toyo's sound great inside too, I have grown a liking to that sound . HIDs look great too, more videos! Need some good revs.

pretty beef sounding, though it doesnt sound as deep as mine. almost sounds like the SLP loudmouths with the rasp to it. its loud though. curious why it sounds that much different than mine. the true and X pipe/high flows must play a huge role in that.

Sounding good man. I agree with Mig on a few comments though, It does sound a little close to the SLPs. I thought it was gonna sound deep as heck. Does it sound real deep in person, as compared to your Flowmasters? I was considering changing to the Bullets but I dont really desire that wrap like tone.

The tips look great man, very very nice! The second song was good btw, much more my style

Yeah, mig/Darren, I thought the same thing. There is a big difference in our setups, though….duals vs y, 3” vs 2.5”, x-pipe, tip exit, etc. Believe me, though…it sounds much better (and deeper) in person. The videos don’t do it justice, especially considering I’m on my D90. I don’t have access to a camcorder or external microphone, so I had to use it. The mic on my D90 is mono, so much of the detail is lost.

And I love me some Disturbed.
