I selected 5.0. Reliability is the number one reason for the 5.0. Old school simplicity, best sound, plenty of power stock, the most performance potential when modded. My 13 RCSB 5.0 is very quick, I can imagine it 600 pounds lighter. My tires need rotating.....
That is the biggest reason I chose the 5.0 in my 13. I test drove two identical trucks, both the same color, one had the ecoboost, the other had the 5.0, I bought the 5.0. The other reason is the 5.0 was $1600 cheaper at the time, 1100 for the cost of the eco and a 500 rebate for any 5.0 equipped truck.

I put a lot of miles on and the potential mileage of the 2.7 TT looked interesting. Once spec'd out though, this engine is not available in a SuperCrew w/ 6.5' bed on a 4x4. If that were the case, the 5.0 is my choice, but it sounds like there are some extra gears in the future transmissions coming. If there is an 8-10 speed slush box in the works, I think the 5.0 and 3.55 or 3.31 gears could be a decent mileage rig with potential to work due to the gearing options.
Depends how long you plan on keeping your truck...
If, like most of you, you buy a new one every year or 2, the eco-crap will be fine. If you keep it for a long time and put hundreds of thousands of miles on it, you would be a fool to buy one of the turbo engines...
If I buy one, it's gonna be the 5.0. But my next truck is most likely going to be an F-350, probably with the diesel

No one can say either one of the "big" motor options is reliable in the long haul, both are pretty new engines.

You do realize that a diesel has a turbo? We are just starting to catch up with the rest of the world when it comes to HP vs.Displacement. Turbos have been in gas powered vehicles for a very, very long time and due to the awesome torque at lower RPM they can provide, does make sense in a truck.
