I have a 2016 F150 3.5 l ecoboost and installed an AEM cold air intake and had the same problem with the P04DB code. I ordered and installed the latest Dual Catch Can system from UPR with the VPS sensor which prevents the code from coming on. So far so good. It's been on a month and working well. If the code comes on again UPR said they would recommend a custom tune to permanently disable it. I'm hoping for free.

Hi Gregg,

hopefully you you have the latest catch can system with the code fix in it by UPR. By any chance do you have a cold air intake system installed and if so what brand?

After weeks of trouble shooting the situation it turned it to be my cold air intake that was popping the code. AEM sent me out a 6 inch aluminum tube that gets inserted into one of the hoses for the air intake. (Which came with instructions). Took literally 10 minutes. I reset the code and never had a problem again. Hopefully this info will help you. Let me know how you make out.

P04db code

AFE has a fix for this code. It's a small aluminum tube about 6 inches long and about as thick as a pencil. It's pointed on a slant on one end, kind of like a hypodermic needle. It comes with instructions and you insert it into one of the hoses coming from the air intake. Once you reset the code you shouldn't have a problem anymore.

When I was getting the code AEM didn't offer that tube and AFE wouldn't sell me the tube by itself so I had to have it programmed out with my tuner. What a PITA!

Oh wow that sucks. That tube definitely makes a world of a difference. It limits the extra air that's coming in to the air intake that you don't need therefore doesn't throw a code. I was going to get those trail grapplers m/t. I heard they hum a lot is that true?

I don't think they're loud at all. The little hum they do have I like. Great looking tire too

Do you think you might be popping the code due to your tuner? I was interested in getting a super chip tuner for my truck but am kind of hesitant. I only have 7000 miles on it and I don't want to void my warranty or possibly set off codes.

Same issue

I am having the same issue with my 2015 3.5, I have the Injen intake and MBRP exhaust kit on it and had no issues. I recently installed the URP catch can kit and now I have the code. It returns every second start up cycle, I also reset the live memory on the truck and so it would hopefully relearn the system but that didnt work. I swapped out the sensor in the kit for the factory one and that didn't work as well. Not sure what to do next.

I have the same error code on my 2016 F150 after installing a Whipple cold air intake. The kit came with an aluminum tube like you are talking about but the directions said nothing about it. I also watched an installation video on the intake before and after I purchased it which also did not mention this tube. I have read many posts of people fixing this problem with this tube but no one has directions on how to install it or just where to install it. Everyone says (came with instructions). Does anyone know where this magic tube goes or do you just open the hood and throw it under there and the code goes away lol. I see several places in the crank case ventilation system that it could be installed I just want to make sure I get it installed in its engineered position.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
