Horn alert

When I get out of my 2016 F-150 in the morning if I close the door the horn beeps two times. wakes my family up. only option is to leave the door open. Does anyone know if there is a way of disconnecting the horn for this alarm ?

you sure it's not because the keys are in your pocket? Once I have started the truck with my foot on the brake and pushed the starter button the key has to stay with the truck or be turned off. Otherwise the horn beeps.

Horn Alert

You are correct the keys are in my pocket usually all the time. I am able to walk back into the house and the truck will keep running. My two options are to leave the key fob in the truck or leave the door ajar. I would still like to find a way of disconnecting the horn alert some day. Thanks

I've read about this on various forums and internet searches and the short answer is NO you can't turn the double honk off.

Can you remote start or get that feature? The horn doesnt honk when I get in and out while under remote start.

On mine you can unlock and lock with it still running I believe. Everything is inoperable but it sets the inside temp to 72 and turns on the seat/steering wheel heaters or the seat ac depending on the temp outside.

From what I read there's no way to just disable, but it sounds like this method works to deactivate it when you get out of your truck.

Nope.

Held it up high, held it low, held it buttons facing the car, buttons facing away from the car.

Nuthin.

I bet it has to do with the in-cab security sensors and the seat pressure sensor, telling the car no one is in the driver seat.

Found this website http://www.fordpimods.com/double-horn-honk.html and saw on another forum where some have bought and had it installed successfully.

guess they fixed that glitch in the newer cars. my st is a 14, just have to hold it above the door touching the roof. not as easy in a truck, but worth a try. the honk is annoying... darn near everytime i go to the car wash i get it since i forget to put the fob in the cupholder.
