COMPLETELY agree. Chebys 6.2L vs. Ford's 5.0 is not the comparison to make. The premise is totally all wrong. If they really wanted to test V8s, then they could have chosen the smaller V-8 options on all models.

5.3 would have been a better option. That's what they get for allowing manf to supply the trucks.

also wish they had a Ford 6.2 in the mix for 2015

I don't see why any of you see this as a bad thing. The F150 came in third and had, by far, the smallest V8. Sure it got beat out by the GM twins but they're also another 1.2L more engine. It beat out the likes of the heralded "Hemi" and the supposedly superior to everything but God, Tundra. I think it's laughable that 2 out of 5 trucks with 13% bigger engines that drink gas like it was cheap whiskey couldn't stay with the smallest V8 of the bunch. I see this as a major plus for Ford.

Pickuptrucks.com have had other tests using the 3.5tt and 5.3 GM:

http://special-reports.pickuptrucks....challenge.html
http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2013/03...davis-dam.html

The 5.3 is a dog and the 3.5tt was comparable in many tests to the Hemi (the 5.0 was too, but it went against a truck with a different gear ratio)

The annoying part is that they don't keep the tests consistent. The Davis Dam that the EB ran in RAMPAGE! was with a heavier trailer.

This is why I wish TFLtruck would conduct more tests.

what's your beef with TFLtruck? Yeah I know Roman can be kind of a duetch, but no other credible source does a test that is as consistent and as grueling. It tests the full capability of a truck in the worst condition possible (high elevation and steep grade).
Only in that tests did the world find out what a dog the 6.4L Hemi is and what a beast the 3.5tt can be.

This vid does more harm to Ford than any good. This almost defies logic. Too bad they didn't ask around about other trucks. I know some guys that have 4 cylinder Samurais that would blow the doors off of any of these trucks in 282 feet. My cuzin has a 49 GMC with a modded 235 straight six that would also clean these clowns clock in 282 feet. The Samurais and the GMC wouldn't stand a chance in a 1/4 mile though. This is going on our MOM {Moron Of the Month} Board at work. I bet I win with this.

Hey! Aren't ye the dimwitted hayseed whut said this?

So - why're you still here?

While the distance is a little bit strange the times they were getting are right at what could be expected for 0-60. When you look at it that way there's both stranger about it at all since 0-60 time is one of the oldest performance tests in the book.
