Motor Trend Truck of the Year...
Was a bit surprised to see the Colorado best the F150. I'll have to test drive one to see what all the excitement is about. I'm sure Ford isn't happy, considering all of the major changes in the 2015, but it should remind Ford to keep pushing harder!
The MT TOY award has nothing to do with the best truck, but only to do with who is going to spend the most money to buy the award. To win the award, manufacturers have to turn in a plan of how they are going to use the award to market and advertise the truck.
^^^ Hey! You forgot about the 5-6 spammers that cruise through here. We gotta make them work a little bit. If we had everything in one big pile their job would be too easy.

Kinda expected the F150 to win 2015 TOTY with the Colorado/Canyon grabbing it next year with the 2.8L Duramax diesel engine (unless Ford dropped the mic by pushing the 10spd out a year early).
Maybe the positive to come from this loss is that the Ranger reboot might get more momentum for an earlier return.
Sidenote: While the TOTY award helps sales, Ford still out sold everyone despite Ram winning back to back awards.

The magazine awards are always biased, even when Ford wins them. Motor Trend has been on an anti Ford mood lately. They have bashed the Mustang while everyone else has praised it. Read the article on the TOTY..... They say something about the Colorado only being available in Extended and crew cabs and that some manufacturers offer so many different configurations that it's confusing. Like choice is a bad thing. They talk about the Heavy Duty Ram announcing its TQ figures a week after the new Super Duty specs and referred to it's additional 5 ft lb as "trumping" Ford.... They also say the Ram 1500 looks better inside and out compared to the new F-150 which is a personal preference as they are all very nice looking trucks. They continue to point out that the F-150 doesn't get best in class MPG the Eco Diesel Ram does. They fail to mention nationally that diesel cost more and it still is not cost effective to buy one. The Eco Diesel is a $3,000-$4,000 option compared to a similarly equipped Hemi which will still cost less to drive and out perform the diesel in every aspect. . . They say the F-150 switching to Aluminum wasn't enough for most consumers to notice and that they didn't change enough other stuff on the truck???? One tester wrote about the F-150 "Burgess found the exterior redesign less of an advancement than that of last year's Silverado" ..........Now that speaks volumes.....lol
