Reverse backup lamps on 7 pin
Reverse backup lamps on 7 pin
The reverse backup lamp is not getting 12v on the 7 pin on the truck when put in reverse. I have the tow package and factory trailer brake controller on the 2014 f150. I verified the fuse and relay is good. Any ideas so I can get the reverse lights on the trailer and surge bypass to work? Thanks

Jess, have you determined that you are not getting voltage at the 7th blade in the truck's plug, or, do the reverse lamps in your trailer not light up? The fault could be in your trailer if the lights are not lighting.

I tested the trailer with my dad’s suburban yesterday and the lights worked on the trailer. I am not getting 12v on the actual truck plug and it’s the center pin. I had my dad put the truck in reverse and there would be 12v on the center pin when he stepped on the brake but as soon as he let off the brake still in reverse the 12v would go away. I was wondering if it’s something with the trailer brake controller setup or when I added the relay and fuse to get the constant 12v at the truck trailer plug to charge a camper. Really as stumper because I bought it new and did pull a boat trailer a couple times years ago and it worked fine.
