O2 Code, and is Bank 1 the LH- or RH- Side?

So is Bank 1 the RH or LH side?

And is LH the driver's side, or the passenger's side?

It is a bit confusing because sometimes you determine the side facing the front of the vehicle.
But sometimes as if you were sitting in the driver's seat.

I ask all this so I know which replacement O2 sensor to order.

Thanks All

Before you order a sensor, what is the exact code?

Bank one is passenger side.

FWIW... Bank 1 is ALWAYS the same side as cylinder # 1 in the engine's firing order.

Guys, first off, thanks for the replies.

Appreciate it, and I have found out bank 1 on Ford engines is the passenger side.

My question is, some of the part suppliers for O2 sensors say "LH" or "RH". They do not mention whether the part is for Bank 1 or Bank 2, or even Driver side or Passenger side.

I would assume LH is Driver's side, but I don't want to assume. Considering Bank 1 always refers to the cylinder hole closet to the front of the engine, am I to assume, when determining left or right, that is also based on facing the front of the engine?

Code is P0130.

Thanks again

Bank 1 sensor 1 is upstream (front) right (passenger) side by definition on a Ford V8. Recommend Motorcraft or Bosch.

Way back about 1980, I put my timing light on my neighbors Pontiac v8. I assumed the #1 cylinder was the first on the crankshaft. Nope, not on a Pontiac. the number one cylinder is the second one on the crank. Why Pontiac would do such a thing is beyond fathomable.

Here's an example of my confusion (not picking on you, glc)

"Bank 1 sensor 1 is upstream (front) right (passenger) side by definition". So based a part listed as a right hand side, RH, component.

But looking at the picture, also provided by GLC, one could argue it's the LH side.

If they just labeled them as D(river)-side or P(assenger)-side, seems it would clear up the confusion.

Anyway, I think I have what I need to order the correct component.

Thanks all

Look up sensors on rockauto.com and you will see it's consistent with what I posted. That's what I used to confirm before I posted.
