While I agree that high RPMs can be more unstable (on any combustion engine)
I believe you are overlooking the fact that boost pressures add stress, and even worse is boost + RPMs

I've really enjoyed the technical yet still civil discussion with Wookie. My hats off to you sir

Thank you I don't take things like this personally and try to learn what I can and educate if I can. If you're ever in the Little Rock area I'll buy you a beer.

Wow did I start a firestorm or what?! Thanks for the input guys, looking for as much info as possible. I plan on keeping this one a long ttime, 8-10 years so longevity and maintenance are a big concern. I know my crystal ball isn't working too well so no one knows what either engine will be like with 120k-180k miles. The most it will ever tow would be a car/trailer combo or firewood but mostly hauling the boy to hockey or soccer.

Ya can't be slappin one uh them snow pusher boards on tuh nose end of e' ekobost

It's actually this that I'm so torn on. I want an Ecoboost but If I decide that I want to push some snow around and get a plow I won't be able too.
