5.0 vs eco-boost
One empty acceleration comparison I watched on YouTube had the 5.0 averaging 6.4 seconds 0-60, and the boosts both around 6 average with their best times being in the mid to high fives. I got 12.3 towing 32' tongue pull travel trailer with my 5.0. Towing a car was in 13s, plan to do a tow of 7' inside height cargo trailer tomorrow. Will see how that goes, as I plan to take an interstate turnpike with 75 mph speed limit. If I drive speed limit, I would anticipate 10-11?
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I usually back off speed limit a bit anyway when towing. The trailer doesn't have the typical sticker signs on it with such warnings, but I previously have only towed this one about 4 miles.
The speed rating should be on the tire sidewall. The only stickers I've seen on trailers are on U-Hauls, and they say 55. They do that for several reasons - tire ratings, axle ratings, safety, and to minimize wear and tear.
I'll have to take a closer look. I looked at the tire today enough to see that the max pressure is 50 pounds. But I have the trailer backed into a corner where mud has washed over concrete, and blocked from potential thieves by box truck and dumpster. Not being willing to get into position to get a good look at all the info on the tire, I didn't look up speed rating.
12.6 mpg towing close to 200 miles with the 5.0. Ran 60-65 following a semi this morning for most of the turnpike stretch. That part alone returned 16 mpg. Ran between 65 &70 with no windbreaker on return trip. Ran ac this afternoon also.
