Autospring Kit... Math just doesn't add up...

All, I hate to beat a dead horse with this question but I am looking to put a Auto Spring kit in my '10 150... The kit I am looking at is a 2.5" up front and a 3" block in the rear. I currently have 2" of rake stock. If I am using this setup (strictly by the numbers) I will have 1 1/4" of rake after the install. I spoke with Auto Spring directly and they claim I will have only 1/2". How is this possible? Anyone with this kit that can confirm the true lift???

Thanks!

The 3 inch block replaces your existing 1 1/4" ish block so therefore the rear lift is actually 1 1/2 - 1 3/4

Yes, exactly. The lift in back will be 1.75", the lift in front will be 2.5". Currently have 2" stock rake. therefore, there is a residual of 1.25" after the lift is applied. Is my math flawed????

It would be a 3/4 -1" rake. depending on your stock block size and actual lift from AS.

This is all assuming his truck is 4WD. Stock 2WDs have no rear block.

Autospring would be wrong about their own product in this case . . .

Sorry, it is 4WD.

I would actually like a 1/2"-3/4" rake MAX. I do tow occasionally. Looks like I am going to be looking for a 2.5" Block. Can anyone attest that the 2.5" up front is actually what it measures after installation???

Option number 2. Don't get a 3" block and do an AAL those come in different heights and you can get a 1" rise from them. And then you'll get your 1/2" rake

Have you even measured your factory block yet to see how big it is? Seems like everyone just assumed it was 1 1/4" but the OP never confirmed it. OP when your measuring the rake, where are you measuring from?

Yes I measured it... 1 1/4" Block for sure.... Measured stance from ground up to fender opening on a level surface, multiple times... Front measures 37 1/2", rear measures 39 1/2".

I was thinking AAL but wasn't too keen on the stiffer ride in the rear unloaded...

They say long AAL don't stiffen it up much but are harder to install. Where the short ones are easy to install but cause a rougher ride.

You can find 2 and 2.5" blocks, but personally, I'd just get the 3" anyway. Take is mostly a visual thing, and is most extreme when the gaps from fender to tire are small. So when both gaps are increased, the difference between the two is a much lower % of total gap, so it is less noticeable. Plus, every bit helps when towing. AAL wouldn't be a bad option either. I wish I had gotten AAL instead of blocks, just for the extreme increase in payload
