Time to jack her up!

I have a '13 Eco SuperCrew XTR 4X4 with the MaxTow (3.73 diffs) package and the 20 inch chrome wheels. I'm looking at leveling it and putting some bigger rubber on.

I do tow a travel trailer, so I don't want to go too big... I'm thinking of doing the 2 inch level, and possibly a bigger block in the rear to retain some rake. I definitely do not want the front higher than the back. Can anyone recommend me a good kit that would accomplish this? How big on the rear block?

Also, as far as tires go, I don't want to have rubbing issues. I'd like to go as big as possible keeping towing and rubbing in mind. Anyone else have the factory 20's with larger rubber on?

I have the Zone Offroad 2" suspension lift kit on my truck and I love the way it sits.

My dad has factory 20s on his Platinum and is running a 295/60R20 Nitto Terra Grappler with no issues that I am aware of.

Does your dad's truck have a leveling kit or any lift to clear those tires?

What you want is a poor mans lift, and not a level. If you still want rake, then its simply not level. Its an either/or thing.

He has a rough country leveling kit on the front end. I can't recall if it's 2" or 2.5".

So that rear 2.5" block set out back will provide about an inch and a quarter of lift in the back then? Considering the stock block is about an inch and a quarter to begin with. Am I right? Or will it throw the back end up 2.5 inches from where it is now?

Depends if you replace the stock block or stack them together. I'd recommended replacing it, stacking isn't a great idea.

For sure I would replace - stacking seems sketchy to me. I might just order a 4 inch suspension lift instead, but not sure. It all comes down to cost and keeping it suitable for travel trailer towing...

Basically, I want to run 295/60R20 Nitto Trail Grapplers on the stock rims and have just enough lift to clear them with no rubbing issues whatsoever.

Those tires may or may not rub with a 2.5" kit up front, but probably will. It's real bang-bang, as some don't, but most do.

4" suspension kit cost 4-5 times as much as level and blocks. Level and blocks are $200 + $80 for alignment of you do it yourself. A real lift is $1,400 minim of you do it yourself, plus $6-800 for install.

2.5" blocks entirely replace the factory block and provide approximately 1 1/8" of additional height. So you will remove 7/8" of take with 2.5" blocks and a 2.0" level.

Exclamation Lower it

Hi,
It is not a good idea to lift the trucks center of gravity when you are towing. Also the bigger tires with aggressive tread does not grip the road as good. All this will make your towing hazardous for you and your family.
good luck.

After lots of reading and asking some members on here about their experiences, I'm thinking that going with the 295/60R20 will bog me down too much especially when towing...

I'm leaning towards a 33 inch tire, and the Autospring 2 inch kit which includes bigger rear blocks. I'm just worried that the rubber won't fill out my wheel wells enough with the level kit on and might look funny. There's nothing worse than not enough tire on a lifted truck.

Anyone have pics or comments on this?

Get a 305/55r20 its a 33x12.50x20 tire Nitto make the trail grap in that size and the terra grap too. The terra grap is more of a A/T style tire and better suited for road use than the trail grap and is quieter and cheaper to boot. A 305/55 is wide enough to fill out your wheel wells but not so wide that you can't use your stock wheels which are 8.5" wide.

I'm looking at the Nitto Trail Grappler 295/55R20 which is a 33" and weighs in at about 73lbs. Does that not seem pretty darn heavy???

What do my stock Pirelli Scorpions weigh? 20in factory chrome wheels
