Anyone know how to remove the ford oval emblem on the tailgate w/ camera??

Also, without breaking it. I took mine off to paint it and broke the tabs. My father in-law has a hennessey raptor emblem to put on his raptor and need to take the ford emblem off. Figures, it did not come with any directions. If I don't get any replies, I guess I will be calling them tomorrow.

It's held-on by double-sided tape.

• park the vehicle so that the tailgate faces the sun. *The object is to heat-up the emblem. This can also be done using (say) a hair dryer.
  .
• use nylon pry bars to slowly pry-up the edge of the emblem by working around the perimeter.
  
  *Can be purchased at Harbor Freight.
  .
• use mineral spirits and/or GOOF OFF to remove the tape residue.

 

Mine was not held on with touble sided tape. There r 2 tabs that somehow slide in n lock. I broke the tabs on mine when taking off. Didnt want to do that to his.

 

A friend of mine replaced all his with Peterbilt ovals. Doubt he did it himself though.

 

My bad/mis' ... T'is true the backup cameral Ford oval is different.

 

Take the panel off the lift gate to look inside? That might let you just pop it off from the inside

 

Negative...I tried from the inside and you cant get to it. After you pop the ford part off as pictured above, there are 2 bolts holding main part of emblem to tailgate.

 

Get an alldatadiy account (which is good to have anyway) and check on there?
