I just read a story about the DoT looking into the issue on the 2011-2012s. This would be the first step towards a .gov mandated fix.

Mechanic came out, hooked up cpu and we drove it. He was looking for an abs problem and not a booster/vacuum problem as I told them when I dropped off. So, they told me to leave truck and mechanic could pin point problem in morning and they now seen what I was talking about. Moved everything back to my rental car again. After that, I watched the porter back my truck into another car on the lot damaging both vehicles. My truck now needs new bumper, bedside, taillight, etc..... And edge he hit easily needs 4k in work. Just my luck. Also, porter complained of brakes not working right and the exact reason I brought the truck in and they couldn't diagnose...... I'm at my wits end here, do believe I need to contact an attorney at this point.....

"Mother, Child and Dog run over F150 with known faulty brake issue"

I almost ran over my neighbor and her son while walking her dog because I couldn't stop the truck in reverse. Phew ford.... what a lawsuit that would be!. I'm surprised there are not deaths related to this issue already.

I took the truck in to learn I had to pay $700 to fix some kind of vacuum leak. First thought... Why is this MY problem? Second..I've never heard of a vacuum pump on a brake-line going. Anyways, stomached the &700 to save myself from killing someone, me or my children. A day later, I believe it's happening again! However, the issue wasn't as bad and stoped quickly so I couldn't replicate to confirm.

Ford... please, do something. At the very least, teach your people how to fix the issue. And if you have a heart, reimburse us faithful ford truck owners for supporting your brand.

Don't depend on the NHTSA to force Ford to do anything.
1- I used to own a V8 79 Mustang, bought used after the warranty. They had a premature rear brake lockup problem. The NHTSA "tried" to get Ford to recall them. Ford didn't but claimed they would repair any car that a customer complained about. This is what I read in the newspaper and I confirmed it with a call to the NHTSA. I checked with two dealers and they denied any knowledge. One even claimed they called "Ford engineering" and they denied any knowledge. The problem was cured on the 80 model so I went to the parts desk and we reviewed all of the part numbers in the 79 and 80 brake systems. The proportional valve was different so I installed the 80 valve in my 79 and fixed the problem.

2- My current truck dropped the spare tire on the road somewhere. I was not aware of it happening and I hope it didn't cause any vehicle behind me to wreck. The cable that holds it broke. After checking into it, I found that it is a generic design issue and the NHTSA "tried" to get Ford to recall the affected vehicles and fix the problem. Ford refused. Ford claimed that if you didn't tighten the cable too tight, it wouldn't break. The new cable I bought from Ford has a spring on the end that reduces the stress on the cable to prevent the cable from breaking. So Ford recognized there was a problem, designed a solution, but refused to replace the cables on the affected vehicles

So, don't count on the NHTSA to do its job. Cuz it didn't in the only two cases I'm personally familiar with. And don't count on Ford or any other manufacturer to do the right thing because they only care about their profit margin. The potential lawsuits have to be way more expensive than the design correction for them to do anything.

2013 ford f150 ecoboost brake problems

My truck does the exact same thing everyone else has had same issue with. Ford won't admit it's an issue and as usual ford buyers get stuck paying the bill. Ive had to put 2 motors in my truck and it only has 107k miles. Both motors had broken piston skirts which is obviously another ford issue that they won't admit to. I was a die hard ford guy but I'm totally done with ford. My check engine light is on more then its off. Now my timing chain is raddling another forf known problem and they won't admit to it. I've worked on this piece of **** more then I've drove it. Since the truck was rolled into a ditch and I had to replace bed and paint it after buying from auction with 6k miles I got no warranty. I won't ever buy another ford product as long as I live. The ecoboost is biggest pile of junk I've ever owned and have spoke with alot of people who have had exact same issues and have had to pay bill being just out of warranty. With the price they charge for these trucks last thing we should have to worry about is more failure issues because ford's to cheap to back up there mistakes. Good luck if I owned a ford ecoboost I'd get rid of it as soon as possible.
