New FX4 Paint Flaws
I haven't heard back from Ford yet. I'm calling the attorney generals office tomorrow if I don't hear anything today. The salesman emailed me today and said, "Sorry, I wish I could do something".
BARRYT82- I have kind of the same problem, only thing it, I work at a Ford Dealer. Since day 1 when my 2011 Screw Fx4 came in, around the outer edge of the tail lamps, you can see where the back side of the lamp has small cracks in it where it was tightened down too far from the assembly line. I talked with my service manager and warranty administrator and they said there is nothing they can do since, the lamps do not have any water built up inside of them.. Yes, it looks bad. you can only see it if you are washing the truck, but it bothers me. Ford dealers are cracking down on their warranty claims hard and we have turned away alot of things that I would consider warranty that our service people and Ford Parts and Service Rep did not. It is not fair to the loyal Ford owners. Thought I would share this problem of mine with everyone.

Exactly! A simple set of taillights that they obvioulsly over tightened and they won't even give me a new set. They are really getting tight on things and it's making it hard on the customer with issues.
What it comes down to is that if Ford (or anybody else for that matter) will buckle under and give somebody a new truck because some kids threw rocks at in on the transporter, almost anybody could hack up a new truck they didn't like and say the same thing. See the problem here - for both parties?
Unfortunately, the moral of the story is that you need to go over your new vehicle with a fine tooth comb before signing for it.
I'm so sorry to hear about your problem Barry. I can't imagine what you're going through, as stupid as that may sound. When you go out and drop $40K + on a vehicle, I'm sure a faulty paint job is the last of your worries. You made me go out and take a look at my Tuxedo Black EB and just double-check. Luckily, mine is flawless.
Though I am extremely disappointed in your quality of your paint and the issue you are going through, I am more disappointed in Ford Motor Company's delay in getting back to you. As a company that has always been good to be and my family with putting food on the table and providing new vehicles and help, and being all we've driven since coming here from Italy a great while ago, it's sad to see issues like this be dragged out. I hope they resolve it and somewhat timely. Keep us posted!

I called the regional service rep today because I never heard from Ford. He was a nice guy and said that he'd give me a call tomorrow after speaking with a few people. Some lady from Ford customer service finally called me at around 7pm and basically told me that Ford won't replace the truck and that my only option is to paint it. She got bitchy with me so I proceeded to tell her how it's going to be and that I'm going to the attorney generals office in the morning. She then told me that she didn't even have the authority to make buy back decisions and that all Ford is obligated to do is repair it because that's what the warranty states. I told her I'll take my chances with the rep and that he's calling me back tomorrow. That was a mistake because now she wants to call and talk to him.
The regional rep never called me back yesterday...I was going to take a trip to the attorney generals office yesterday, but I decided to wait to hear back from the rep. I'm not sure if I have to call the attorney generals office in my state or the state where I purchased the truck.
I emailed the salesman Saturday and told him that I had tried to contact the owner of the dealership and that I couldn't wait to get the survey I'm supposed to receive soon so that I can let them know how I feel about it all. He said hat he'd have the owner call me Monday. We'll see how that goes....
