I know the salesman I dealt and the owners son are members on this site and F150 Forum, but I don't know their user names. I'm so tired of dealing with it that I just want I fixed or replaced. Ford's customer service I horrible. Every person I've dealt with never returns my phone calls or emails and they tell me that they'll call me on a certain day, but they never do. The service manager at Fairway was supposed to call me on a Thursday and didn't call me until almost two weeks later. When he called he said that he'd call me back two days later and didn't call for until Friday evening to tell me they were coming to pickup my truck today. That second phone call was supposed to be over a week before Friday. Rachel from Ford customer service was supposed to call me back last week, but never did. I've left two voicemails now and she hasn't called me back. I've already made it clear that I won't accept the truck unless it's fixed correctly. The Attorney General's office said that they can't step in and do anything until they attempt to repair it. Everyone at the dealership hates me now and won't talk to me because I told the truth on the survey that they beg you to give them all excellents on. The problem isn't going to be corrected if it keeps going unnoticed. I thought that I'd at least get a phone call from Ford about it, but never did.

The 2012 I went to go 2 weeks ago had issues like yours. I saw them as soon as I walked up to the truck. I pointed them out and the salesman was like our body shop will fix that right up for you for free... The orange peel in it was so heavy it was crazy. I said what a shame and walked away from it. They did find me another exactly like it though. Sorry for the crap your dealing with.

How in the hell do these trucks make it out of the factory with paint issues like this? Do they think people will just overlook them and not say anything? They must not be inspecting them before shipping them and the dealerships aren't inspecting them when they receive them.

avoidance is the best policy when you don't want to deal with a problem. Avoid it till it goes away. Common dude get mean.

The dealership called me back today and said that they wouldn't fix the orange peel. They're only going to remove the dirt in the paint, fix the areas where it's missing paint, and the spot with the sealant on the cab. I told the service manager that its going to look like crap because the paints going to be smooth in some areas and covered in orange peel in the others. He basically told me that he didn't care and that they wouldn't do anything about it. He also said that he doesn't know why I'm complaining about the paint issues because to him they are "minimal". That's far from minimal. I asked him if he would want it fixed if it were his truck and he said yes. So I guess it's different when a customer wants their vehicle fixed vs an employee.

I guess that's what he was hoping. The left front side of the hood didn't line up with the fender or headlight right either. I saw other trucks where on the rocker panel the clear or rough and super thick. I thought it was a Rock chip preventer thing ford was doing till I saw different textures on trucks as I started to really look each random truck on the lot over. Then when mine showed up the rocker is smooth as a baby's ***. I found it all very weird.

Rachel from Ford customer service finally returned my call today after leaving her multiple voicemails every day last week. They refuse to fix the orange peel anywhere on the truck because "orange peel on the F-150 is normal". I've had my truck to 4 local dealerships to try to have it repaired and every one of them refused to repair it because of the work involved and the excessive orange peel. Why is it that when I finally get the dealership where I purchased it to fix it they state that their zone manager said that the orange peel was normal and that it won't be fixed. They also stated that it has rail dust in the paint and that they won't fix it. When my local zone manager met me to see it he said that it looked horrible and that it never should have left the factory. When I tried to explain to Rachel that the service manager has been overlooking other areas on the paint that were marked she tried to talk louder and louder on the phone so that I couldn't get a word in. Luckily, have lots of practice yelling and she shut her mouth for a few seconds to listen to what I had to say. I'm fed up with Ford customer service and Fairway Ford. I wouldn't recommend a Ford to anyone after the experience that I've had. The only way I've been able to get any help from these *******s is by talking to Natasha on the Ford Facebook page. If I send her a message she eventually gets someone to call me or tells me what's going on.

At this point, I wouldn't blame you if you took it to a Chevy or Dodge dealer and tried to trade it in. The 2013 Rams look like they are greatly improved.

I'd like to drive it to Michigan and put a brick on the gas pedal in front of the entrance to the home office.

I was going to get a 2012 this year but bad paint, faulty eco boost, steering issues, etc I have come to the conclusion that its not worth getting a new expensive truck with the chance of the slightest thing being wrong. I know they are not all like this but its to much cash to take a risk on. Sorry about your situation Barry and thanks for the info.

Drive it to downtown Detroit and park it with the keys in it. It won't last long in one piece.

Who needs keys with a Ford? They can just punch the lock right out of the door to get in. I'm sure it's just as easy to start.

Orange peel is normal on these trucks. It's from laying on the paint thick when they paint it. You can remove orange peel by wet sanding. I would have them paint the areas they offered. Those are the true defects. They are going to do a blend job, it will still look good. The new painted area will most likely have the same amount of orange peel as factory.

Only thing I warn is to look over the truck for over spray. Warn them you will be looking for any overspray, so they should be extra careful when taping off.
