Just ordered a new ecboost fx4

I have a feeling this is going to be the longest 6-8 weeks of my life.

2012 FX4 Ecoboost Super Crew
Sterling Metallic
Lux Package
20in wheels
trailer brake

$10k under msrp. I'm really excited. I sold my 04 FX4 2 years ago and miss not having a truck. I'm already shopping for mods

Congrats bud, You will feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, and when it finally arrives, it will be the best day ever.

Also, pics are a must when you do get it

Yah the 04 was a good truck. I have the same Roush vent pod in my GT500. It works great.

Anyone know off the top of their head what's a good size 20in tire to use on the stock wheels? Prob a 33in. I'm doing a leveling kit as well

Too bad your steering is going to pop and rattle after you drive it 1000 or so miles. EPAS gear is flawed on these trucks.

Not all trucks may have the problem though wernst. No use scaring someone and making them possibly regret their decision. I understand that warning people is a good thing, but saying that it definitely will happen to them is not necessarily true in that regard. In any case, thats what the warranty is for.

You are right super liner. Maybe test drive it first and make sure the problem isn't there. Check out f150forumdotcom. It is a sticky on the site. I personally have had two racks/gear put in. Fixes problem for about 1600 miles and then it comes back.

No Man. No worries. I have just been fighting this problem since I bought my truck this past December. I love everything else about except this steering issues. Hoping Ford will figure it out.

I hope so too for your sake. These trucks are awesome, and I know how it feels to have something so nice have issues. I built my first computer only to have the motherboard be DOA, so yeah, I know the feeling.

Im sure N8 will be fine, I bet hes all jumping up and down thinking about his truck.

I'm with you Anthony,well put!

Not to shift this too far off topic, as with N8 and my truck on order . I'm not worried about the steering rack. As with BMW,they decided to use EPS in the Z4 in 2003. It had it's share of issues, nothing major. over the years it just got better like in my wife's 2011 Z4,it feels pretty darn good. however,I don't think anyone can ever match up the road feel as with hydraulic steering (or electro hydraulic in the 1st[new] generation Mini) .

Ray

Appreciate the concern and warnings. I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed.
