Thumbs down tailgateskin separating on 2011

My 2 month old, 8500 km 2011 FX4's tailgate is pulling apart along the seams on both sides. The first time i loaded my ATV onto my truck using ramps the folded over (crimped) seams came apart. I contacted the dealer, he looked at the truck for all of 5 seconds and made a determination that this is normal and all F150's will do this. I argued that my 2009 FX4 that had an ATV or sled on the truck roughly 500 times didn't move any and walked over to the truck in the used lot and showed him but still he claimed that it was user error and not warranty. Apparently F150 owners are not supposed to put any weight on the tailgates. I was told that technically i am supposed to remove my tailgate, load my truck and re-install the gate. Got to wonder what a bed extender is designed for.
I contacted the 1 800 line (a complete waste of time and extremely aggravating by the way), they called the dealer who informed them that this is normal, soooooo no warranty, period, end of story! They said that the dealers are their eyes and ears out in the world and that they (FORD) take their assessment at 100%, no discussion. I have been to 3 different dealers and all have said that this is clearly a manufacturing error and need the tailgate replaced before the outer skin peels like a pop can. I called Ford back but unless my dealer says it is an issue there is none regardless if every Ford dealer in the country agrees that there is a problem. This is a brutal company with &*@! Customer Service.

So i am currently trying to get someone at Ford to look at the pictures (i was informed that unless my dealer sends them they won’t be viewed) and determine if the robots made an error when fabricating this tailgate. Oh, by the way my dealer refused to take pictures and submit them.

So, are other guys / gals tailgates coming apart out there? Does anybody know of any other way to contact Ford?

P.S. trying to figure out how to atach pictures!

Can't you have one of the other dealers fix it under warranty? Why are you still dealing with the same dealer to get it fixed?

Now that Ford has contacted the dealer and "he" said it is user error / normal breakage, that is it. The other dealers said the only way now is to creat some kind of appeal.

A warning to others, do not call Ford before going to other dealers. That was my mistake in this deal. The other dealers would have fixed it but now if they do Ford will not pay them for the work.

The call to Ford Canada was the most frustrating call i ever made!!!!

Still working on the photos. I did upload some to my profile but can't seam to get them in a post. When u see them you will want to look at your truck.

You sure your truck is not a Toyota? That sucks. Guess we can't make fun of them anymore. I can see the dealer's side of it, but still looks like they would take care of you. You might try craigslist for another tailgate.

It's all in the link I posted. Read the thread and learn how to post images. It really simple to add image tags.
