The white Harley looks sick, love it! The FX appearance package for the FX4 looks horrendous in my opinion, but maybe it looks better in person...?? I'm happy with what I've got now

 

You have to look past the stupid stripe on the FX appearance package... Other than that it's nothing people haven't already been doing to trucks on there own:

Black badges- check
Badge inlays- check
Black wheels- check
Painted flares- check

The stripe may compliment the FX2 well as a street truck, but it has no place on the FX4. I'd prefer some type of off road themed decal if it had to have one... Hint-hint some variation similar to the raptors bedside graphics.. Obviously not the same though.

 

$895 for ecoboost - I don't like that!

Also, lariat with off-road package seems like a better deal than the Fx4. More features and much better color choices for the same price. (configured using 3.73 e/locker, 4x4, same bed, etc.)

The FX appearance package looks terrible in those pics. I like some of the options on the interior, but that stripe? Really? Ruins the whole truck. have to see it in person first.

i have to agre with FX4life the stripe should be for the FX2 and they should have an off road one for the FX4 and or offer it as an option like the Raptor. then you could pic between the two or not have one at all.

 

why cant ya get the custom pkg on the xlt with engines other that the 3.7?

 

About 450 pounds of payload. Axles are different, brakes, springs, 7-lug wheels on may payload vs 6, etc.

 

It looks like you can't get heated and cooled seats on the Lariat this year. I'm glad I bought last years model.

I saw it in person at the Auto Show (Dallas State Fair) this past weekend. I gotta say - I was less than impressed. It was too much black accent and the red stripes on the leather seats sorta took away from the "truck" feeling.

Love that it comes with chilled seats though, wish mine had that.

 

I have to say, I am so glad I bought my truck when I did. I have to be honest, I wouldn't buy a 2012 FX4. Same thing with my Mustang, I bought mine right before the new body style (2010-present), yeah a 5.0 would be nice, but my 4.6L is good for me, plus it works out because I got the 5.0 in my truck =)

 

I would agree with the too much black... but I think red is more of a 'truck' color than the blue which is in the Raptor. My opinion is both have their strong suits, but if I had a choice red would be my more 'truckish' color over a blue. I probably would have preferred the red on the seats to come in a different form than just the piping and what looks like the mesh inserts, but I guess I should just be happy to have lots of choices.

Red= Aggression and attitude
Blue= Serenity and calm

Then again I am addicted to the color red!


I also plan on ripping off the center stack bezel, center console bezel and the accent trim on the doors and painting it to match whatever the exterior color of the truck I buy is to break up all the black in an FX4 w/ the appearance package and/or get rid of the crummy gray accent that comes in the raptor when you don't opt for the blue interior.

 

I'll have to look at the website but in person at the Texas State Fair the 2012Fx2 had....wait for it....cooled seats! I've asked the local dealership and they don't know if it will be an option on the FX4 but they don't seem to know much to begin with. If anyone already knows the answer to this please let me know. It is likely the difference between me getting a 2011 with a discount or a new 2012.
