I did it the easy way. I bought some new take offs tuxedo black Lariat flares.

Did you drill holes in the fenders to mount the factory flares?

Is there anything unique to the different body styles and flares? I have ordered a 6.5' bed SCREW, will it interchange with any other cab/bed config.?The flares are the same

Also, has anyone tried to send him your old flares as a "core" charge? To try and get a few dollars off the price?
I didn't ask, but I doubt he'd be interested in the textured flares.
Do they come with the factory hardware or will I have to re-use mine?
They come with hardware
Thanks!

Mine already had holes because it came with the textured FX4 flares. I just removed the textured flares and put the painted flares on.

Thanks for the reply. I texted him and should be buying a set of the ingot silvers after he emails me some pics.

He does not want anymore FX4 flares, lol, says he has 30 sets already!

Again, thanks for the hook up!

Is it bad that I already have over $500 worth of aftermarket parts sitting in my garage with no truck yet?

I did the same when I ordered my truck back in March. I had weathertech floorliners, painted flares, leveling kit, radiator and intercooler bug screens, chrome parking lights, lower grill, mirror reflector delete thingys all before I had my truck. One week after I got my truck I got new tires and sold my stockers on craigslist.

^ yep, I had everything out of sight for a few weeks. The day I brought it home I laid the bed mat out in the driveway to warm up and get soft, razor blade peeling all those stickers off the windows, front license plate insert, antenna, etc.. The neighbors were probally wondering why all the work on a brand new truck

I seriously considering some silver flares. Thanks for the link

Got my flares today. They look good, no issues. Now All I need is a truck to put them on.

I did some paintwork on my truck 2 years ago and it still looks perfect. I sanded it to remove the texture, then I did 3 coats of Krylon Fusion spray paint, then 1 coat of gloss clear coat.

Not very hard. On the rears remove the screws on the very bottom, remove push pin fasteners in the fender lips, then firmly pull the flares away from the fenders to release the clips (one at a time) on the outer fenders. The fronts have 2 nuts that attatch to the upper bumper cover. Remove those and all of the push pins then pull away from the fender to release the clips on the outer fender. On the fronts I start pulling from the front and work back. That way the 2 studs on the front flare aren't going to scratch the paint. Someone else recently did a writeup on this but he used some sort of tool to release the clips on the outer fenders. I just yanked them off by hand.
