Painting grille and lip moldings

Looking to paint the grille and wheel lip moldings on my 2011 fx4. The truck is black and the grille and moldings are grey and i'd like them to be black. Was hoping to just rattle can it but not sure how it would turn out. Thanks!

It's kind of a PITA to sand the flares smooth and then hope the paint sticks and doesn't chip too easy, but it can be done.
I did it the easy way. I bought some new take offs tuxedo black Lariat flares.

^ yep, I'm kinda looking around for folks with lariats or platinums who are going to be taking theirs off.
Anybody know if you order them from the dealer if they'll come painted?

You can get them on eBay as well from time to time. That's where I got mine and they look great.

I bought some off ebay for my 06. I got outbid for some for my '11 back in March. But it worked out for the better. I ended up getting some from this guy on Houston craigslist. They were cheaper with shipping costs than the ones I was bidding on without shipping costs. I was kind of skeptical at first but the guy is legit. We only communicated by text and I paid with paypal. I got my flares with all new hardware,no scratches and packaged nicely.

Mine came from a guy named Francisco in Houston so that's actually the same seller unless there are two guys named Francisco in Houston selling F150 fender flares.

I just saw the order guide of the 2012's and see they are doing PTM flares on the FX4 with an appearance pkg. I never gave this a thought until I read that!

Im going to text that guy later today and see if he will ship to Virginia. Looks like a decent price, I hope he still has Ingot silver in stock.

Thanks for the link!

Few questions before I try calling this guy.

Is there anything unique to the different body styles and flares? I have ordered a 6.5' bed SCREW, will it interchange with any other cab/bed config.?

Also, has anyone tried to send him your old flares as a "core" charge? To try and get a few dollars off the price?

Do they come with the factory hardware or will I have to re-use mine?

Thanks!
