so I took mine to the dealership today and asked them to put in the shims. but the wont touch it because I have a 6" lift. I was so pissed because I told them the lift blocks arent causing the fing squeak its the oem springs. mechanic they said specialized in suspension said he hadn't heard of teflon shim. bunch of clowns that work there.

Can anybody recommend a spring shop in San Diego.

So i found this thread super helpful.. BUT i cant figure out how to "spread" the springs apart to reveal the shims.... i guess it was easier said than done or im just a bone head.

these shims are in the middle of the spring on top of the axle correct???

They are on the tips of the middle leaf front and back.

Use a wedge or big screwdriver to spread the leaf..

Jack the rear end up off the trailer hitch, it will sag the leaf springs and make it much easier to spread.

I discovered the issue.

Its the metal tabs between the leaf springs.. I jambed a wedge into the leaf pack to seperate the middle leaf from the top...revealing the rusted tabs that are rivetes to the leaf..

I coated the them in a Rustcheck spray...

Here is a pic of where the shims are..front and back of leaf..

The truck sounds like the day I got it...Smooth...Silent...

Unbelievable how that sound transfers through the truck...I thought the bed was going to fall off....

Hope this is helpful if others find it
What did you use to shim it

If you Google search, you can find the shims. Most spring shops have them.
