exhaust tip or no tip

Ok so I can't decide on what to do. I want a 4 inch outlet but not sure which way of doin that would look better. Either just a plain 4 inch pipe basically from the axel back, that same thing but with a angle cut rolled edge 4 inch polished tip, or from the stock 3 inch pipe a 4 inch angle cut rolled edge polished tip. Here are some things that may effect the decision. It will have a level with blocks, black grille guard, and black headache rack with hauler lights. Please help. Thanks.

Kind of confussed from what your looking to do, but for the most part people have the 2.5in tube (i believe) and add on whatever size tip they want usually 12 or 18 long. Here's my 4in rolled stainless tips on my catback duals. They run straight out the back, if i did them again i would have shorter tips so i could bend them up and then point them at about a 45degree angle at the ground.

Nice truck! The 2010's came with 2.5" pipe but the 2011's come with i'm pretty sure a 3" pipe. To clearify(sp?) I want a 4" outlet but not sure which way of doin it would look better. I was either going to cut the stock pipe after the axle and put on a 4"piece in place of that last bend out, do that but with the rolled polished tip, or keep the stock pipe and just put on a 4" rolled polished tip. Is that a bit more clear?

Are you sure? Because I've seen some 2009's and 2010's that have a smaller looking tail pipe than the 2011's.

Go measure it...lol

Mine is 2-3/4" on my 2010... 2V 4.6

My buddies 09 is a 2-3/4"....3V 5.4

They are 2-3/4"

I don't know what size the 2011 exhaust is since it was redesigned for the new trucks..

It now has a resonator and different looking oval body muffler instead of the round can from the 2009-2010...

Both are still straight through.

I don't doubt you on the size rof the 2009's and 2010's, I just think that the pipe looks bigger on the 2011's, oh well. I've kinda seen the newer mufflers but I didn't know they have a resonator though, whats the point of that?

The resonators quiet it down more...

It is probably some sort of perforated glasspack..

The new motors are evil, probably sounded it too with the 09-10 exhaust.... They are fairly loud...

I'll check it out. I am getting the new 5.0 and I know that they sound good and are loud. Thats one of the reasons i'm going to get a new muffler, I really don't like a quiet truck, it just shouldn't be.

I'm getting a Magnaflow Magnapack, love the sound. I have a set up that I want to do, just not sure which way of doing it would look best as I said before, thats the only thing I need to decide on for the exhaust. I can't wait to hear it, of course I still need to get the truck, its ordered, just not in yet.

Indeed there is a difference of a 1/4 between the 09-10 to the 2011...

since we are on the topic or exhaust what is y'alls opinion of before tire vs behind tire exhaust (appearance, problems, sound, etc.). i know its been asked a thousand times but here it is again. the truck will be used for off roading, towing, hauling, and transportation of friends and family. i thought i the set up i wanted in mind but i'm can't decide again.
