exhaust tip or no tip
I opted for the Magnaflow 4" rolled angle round tip only. It has discolored a good bit from the hot exhaust temps these trucks run. It looks like these engines run lean and hot. I haven't discolored a Magnaflow tip in a while...
Here is a great place to start with tips:

These are HIGH quality pieces - awesome stuff.

since we are on the topic or exhaust what is y'alls opinion of before tire vs behind tire exhaust (appearance, problems, sound, etc.). i know its been asked a thousand times but here it is again. the truck will be used for off roading, towing, hauling, and transportation of friends and family. i thought i the set up i wanted in mind but i'm can't decide again.
Towing: Duals before the tire 45'd will keep the rumble from reverberating against your trailer like straights out the back after the tire would. It would also allow you to back further down the ramp while dropping a boat into the water.
Family: BUT, dual 45s before the tires will decrease the length away from the cab and potentially add in-cab drone, which your family probably wouldn't approve of in the case you HAD to romp on it.
In my opinion, the best look on our trucks are the duals 45'd out behind the rear tire with SS polished tips. I'm biased, though. I'll admit I never liked the '97-'03 trucks that had the stock exhaust in front of the rear tire...just didn't look right.
