Ecoboost first time out of the box

Picked up my new 2011 lariat 4x4 ecoboost Friday nite..First trip of any length was today from Daytona to Jacksonville Fl..Avg speed 74 Miles per hour with an avg mile per gallon at 18.0 even...Not bad.. a lot better than my 06 xlt 5.4 triton.

Good to see another N. Florida local on here. You live in Daytona or Jax?
Post up some pics of your new ride!

true! My hope is that when all these EB's get broken in we will see 21 mpg reports!

I got 18+mpg on the way home with new EB Saturday on a mostly 2 lane road and traveling 61-63mph.
I reset the Trip A leaving the office today and got 20+ for the trip home(only 4 stoplights and a little over 25 miles)
My computer on my '10 5.4 said 14.8-15.0 most of the time.

The problem I have is that people are reporting that the 5.0 is getting better than 18 at 74, and for sure at 60-65. Which makes me wait. I would expect the EB would get better than the 5.0

Drove my 2011 5.0 from Marathon to Key West. I was getting 22-23 at 60mph. On I-95, I was getting 16.5 going 85mph with 4 people and a bed full of gear. Just me, I'll get 19-20 going 60.

i'm getting 16-16.5 city right now w/ my 5.0 fx4 supercab w/ 3.73's. so far really impressed with the 5.0 reports, not so much with the eco boost reports.

These two motors are rated at 1 mpg difference. They are both excellent motors, but keep in mind if you are going to tow heavy and want the max tow setup, the 5.0 is out. Max tow only comes with the EB or 6.2. MPG's on these trucks is a wash, it's all about torque, they are trucks. And with any vehicle if you are going to get the top fuel mileage you must know how to drive to get it!

2020,
That truck looks like the one I want. white or silver FX4 Lux w/ 6.5' bed! Very nice truck you got there!
