So why have you put in the aftermarket DVD player and trim kit instead of just getting the factory ford unit? I figured it would just have been easier plus it would be covered with the warranty. Just curious.

Also, man you guys are really giving me some good ideas on the gun hiding idea. I live in MO and have my conceal carry permit so I can pretty much carry it directly on me where ever I want to. Being a former Marine from Iraq too I have tried my best to set my current 01 screw with as much firepower as possible. I really like the kit shown on this page with the pistol being in the front part of the drivers seat, and add on top of that a lockable console?! Great idea. I have been focusing on mounting magazine holsters in periodic places so I can reload if the need arose. I am working on getting a new ecoboost so I have been very interested in how others have 'loaded' their new trucks. I have met some really dedicated people who have made their own custom hide aways to store shotguns etc within arms reach. Very interesting.

Anyways, keep up the good info here. Great subject to read about.

Went with aftermarket becasue I prefer the Pioneer operating system over the Sony Factory unit. My brother has one in his 2010 Expedition. Also I got everythign I needed (including Alpine Back-up camera) for a little less than 1100.00 installed.

Added 35% tint to front windows

Added 35% Tint to the Front Windows. Makes it like 27%. I was told the rears are 20%, but it is a decent match. Will post pic if asked.

He has a problem with his Photobucket account. If the pics were uploaded to his albums on his profile, wouldn't happen.

Yes. I deleted the pictures from photobucket, forgetting they would delete from this forum.

I have however added a low profile UWS bed box. Perfect for my golf clubs, and rifle or two just in case I find myself in a place where I can/need to shoot.

Why 338 Lapua? Becuase the bad guy has a nasty habbit of hiding behind objects.

Thanks.

Update: I am assembling parts for a Power Fold/Heated/Puddle Lamp/Reflector Blinker upgarde.

All parts thus far have been purchase at www.Tascoparts.com

This is what I have thus far:

1. Bought a set of 2011 Power folding/Heated/Day-Night Mirrors for a fellow in Warrenton, MO off Craigslist for a steal @ 200.00 cash for the set. They do not have the Puddle Lamp option so I will add that.

2. 2 x 3F1Z-13B375-AA (Puddle Lamp). $57.04 landed in MO.

3. 1 x 3U2Z14S411AJC (Mirror Switch Connector). Currently have the base model with no fold. - $44.74 landed in MO.

4. 1 x Mirror switch, f150, w/platinum, king ranch -$25.39 landed in MO.

5. 2 x 3U2Z14S411DLA (Mirror Connectors) - $65.57 landed in MO.

What I need/Think I need:

1. LED strips for front blinker - AutoZone - $14.99+ tax.

2. LED 8~30vdc - x 2 - www.superbrightles.com - $6.50 - White

3. Platinum Heater Control Unit - x1 - 209.00 + shipping. This is to control the defrost of the mirror from the dash.

4. Various wires, RTV, Heat Shrink Tubing, electrical stuff etc....

I also ordered a set of Harley Headlamps to mtch the Harly tails I have. I will be replaceing the 2011 resonator with a straight pipe - BL3Z-5A212-R - I think it was $147.00 landed. I woudl have to look it up.

Will keep you posted with pics.

Got Started This weekend

I could not wait to get started, even though I do not have all the parts on my build list.

I removed both stock mirrors and added the PF mirrors. I was able to run all of my wiring so when I do have all the parts I will have a jump on the project.

I wired for he Puddle Lamps, which the LEDs from www.superbrightLEDs.com showed up Saturday. Special tyhanks to Bob_Mac from another F150 forum in helping me sigle out the Puddle Lamp power lead. It is the purple wire found in the harness that goes to the Mirror harness. It is the same color on each side and according to Bob_Mac it is purple on the 09's, and 10's.

While I was at it, I removed the Front reflector and cut ootu the back to insert LED stips I bought at AutoZone. I ended going with 18" strips for $19.99, cut them to length whcih gave me 9 LED lights to use as front blinkers.

Looks good! I normally don't like the blacked-out look (I like a bit of chrome for accent), but yours looks great!
