Go tell that to a long distance trucker... his tanks should be much smaller so he gets better mileage...

And don't forget you would still be able to save 99% of that weight. Just don't fill it up all the way.

Last I checked the EPA does not do MPG testing towing a trailer. I must admit it has been several years since I looked though. 75 lbs isn't much, but add that to the other weight savings Ford was able to put into the truck and pretty soon it is a good number with cooresponding fuel consumption improvement.

Is it possible that Ford has a reason for not offering the large tank with the EB instead of it being a "stupid mistake"?

Maybe it has to do with the direct injection system?

nope.

36 gallon tank is available with the ecoboost with the 8' bed on certain configurations. A guy over on Blue Oval forums has one on order

Interesting to see if that's possible. The original order guide says Ecoboost gets a 26 gallon tank, period.
