It might be fast/powerful but the Ecoboost sounds like a turd.

I'm still going to test drive the 5.0/6.2/ecoboost but I am looking more closely at the 6.2/5.0. The only downside to the 6.2 is the MPG....that 5.0 sounds amazing stock...with duals and programmer it would be heaven. I don't do enough towing to warrant the ecoboost...the 6.2 would just be awesome to have if I can afford it. Would love a 6.2 in an FX4 so hopefully by the time I go to buy a truck the 6.2 will still be around and be an option at that time (highly unlikely I know)....If not I will be down to choose between the FX4 screw with a 5.0 which I plan on lifting 6" or the Raptor Screw with a 6.2 and my wheels slapped on it with some 35's

I still don't understand this logic. What about the EB says it was made simply for towing? I tow very little, but I still want the EB for better fuel mileage when driving unloaded.

I can't wait to see the final number for the eb fuel economy...

Why are they keeping it secret for so long?

Not that much better then the 5.0...?

I have read two reviews by journalists and Ford told them 5% better than the 5.0.
If you want the link go to the pickuptrucks.com forum and you will see my post there

If that's true, then it's really good.

The 5.0 4x4 is rated at 15L/100km city and 10.5L/100km hwy.

So we can expect 14.2 to 14.3L/100km city and 10L/100km hwy for a 4x4 eb.

I'm guessing the EB mpg is being kept 'secret' because it may not be that much better than the 5.0. I can't see how it can be. Great technology or not, that thing has to pull a heavy truck just like the other engines.

The 6.2 is awesome if you can afford the gas! I can't imagine owning that thing for long though.

I think the better part of that paragraph is the next line that states the fuel economy numbers will be out by the end of the year.
