I agree 100%....wear metals and silicone will always be flushed out in the first couple of oil changes. I can do an oil change for about 22 bucks, so it is cheap insurance for your engine longevity.

ROK, you just about made my head explode. I thought you were complaining that you had ordered an '11 F-150 on 11/13 and it had shipped on 11/22. I ordered mine on 9/16 and I'm still waiting...along with everybody else.

It was only when I was wondering how you do your first oil change before the truck arrives that I clued in...dumbass!

OK, blood presure returning to normal now...still waiting.

BTW, I'll definitely order a Fumitomo too. I'm planning on running full synthetic (whatever's on sale) 0W-20 year round.

Edit: Make that Fumoto

I'm still on the fence about the fumoto for this truck. I can clean up a few drips easy enough with a rag and I've done 3 OC so far just over 10k, will be doing another in about 1500 mi. I did have one for the 6.0 and liked it. Maybe I'll get myself one for Christmas.

fumoto?

I looked at there web site, question I have is does it have a magnet in it like stock plugs to collect stele parts in the oil pan while sitting? Looks like only brass and SS.

Pretty sure the stock bolt isnt magnetic. And no the fumoto isnt because its brass. Mine came today. but i already changed the oil last week. so now it sits for probably 6 months until its time to change again. All thanks to them not sending it out until 10 days after i ordered it!
